Even though Phoebe explicitly states she doesn't want to go to the hospital, she's still a minor and seems to have no choice in the matter.

Sadly, they don't let Hayley into the ambulance with them, but the blonde assures Phoebe that her and Taylor will be following closely behind and will see her again soon.

However, Phoebe feels like the entire system is against her because once again, they don't let Hayley or Taylor back into the room they set her in. Phoebe is feeling a bit empty and nervous, so refuses to say anything to anyone, and refuses all the testing until they let Hayley into the room.

It takes a lot of convincing, but eventually her foster care agent is there and says it's okay for Hayley to go back, so they finally let her.

Phoebe can't help but to cry a little in relief when she sees the blonde making her way through the door.

"Phoebe, they said you're not talking to the cops. You have to talk to them, honey, and you have to let the doctors help you." Hayley coaxes her, sitting in the chair behind the bed. She reaches a hand out to the teen slowly, sighing a little when Phoebe quickly grips onto her hand.

"I don't want to talk and I don't need to be looked at, I'm fine." Phoebe pleads, feeling like a child as Hayley looks at her sadly.

"We just have to get it over with..." Hayley frowns, eyeing the hand shaped bruises on Phoebe's wrist. "But I'm staying right here, okay? It's gonna be okay, but they have to question you. Then the doctors have to make sure you're okay."

Phoebe pulls her hand away and crosses her arms like a kid not getting what she wants, but nods a little anyway, her voice coming out quiet. "Okay."

Hayley sighs in relief and looks over at the door, motioning for the police to enter the room. Phoebe tenses a little at one of the cops being a man and the doctor being one too, but tries not to let the anxiety show.

"Hey, Phoebe." The officer she'd talked to at the house, Murphy, smiled gently, "This is my partner, Diaz, we just need to ask a few questions okay? You were a little out of it at the house and we just need some clear answers."

Phoebe doesn't say anything, just stares at the blanket with a blank expression as she shrugs.

"Now, at the house you tried explaining things, and that helped, it really did, but you were also rambling and it wasn't all that clear..." Officer Murphy explained with a sad smile, "We just need to get a basis on what happened. This will also help Dr. Jones here knows what's going on physically."

Hayley keeps her eyes trained on Officer Murphy as she explains, looking back at Phoebe to see the girl give a single nod in response.

"Now, how did this all start?"

"He got mad that it took me so long to walk home from school," Phoebe whispers, crossing her arms over her chest. "He got mad saying I was hanging out with boys... But I- I wasn't. I was just walking home." She whimpered, making Hayley bite the inside of her cheek.

She was overwhelmed with her feelings at the moment. It was an overwhelming anger towards Jack and Sam, but also an overwhelming protectiveness for Phoebe. She hates that this happened again. Hates that she wasn't there. Hates that she hadn't done something sooner.

"It's okay, sweetheart." Hayley quietly soothes her, wishing she could take away all the younger girl's pain.

"What happened after that?" Officer Murphy asked softly, and Hayley was at least grateful that Phoebe seemed to have gotten a compassionate officer to her case.

"He hit me, then pushed me to the ground." Phoebe whispered, beginning to cradle her bruised wrist in her other hand. "Then he- well he-"

Hayley's mind instantly went to the worst place possible and she couldn't help but to feel like she was going to throw up as she stared at Phoebe's wrists.

She knew she had to be strong for the teen, but wanted nothing more than to just start crying along with her. To pull her into her chest and never let anything touch her ever again. Just like she should've done last time.

"He what, Phoebe?" Officer Murphy asked softly.

"He didn't- I mean he tried, but I- then Sam-" She was starting to hyperventilate again, and Hayley couldn't stop herself from reaching over and grabbing the girl's hand, but Phoebe just gripped onto her like a lifeline.

"Breathe, Phoebe. It's okay," Officer Murphy told her sympathetically, "We're gonna go and let you have some rest, but we need to know how bad he hurt you."

"I just wanna go to sleep," Phoebe whispered through her tears, looking over at Hayley, "Can't I go to sleep?"

"You have to answer their questions, honey." Hayley replied shakily.

Officer Murphy cleared her throat, "Now, I know you're feeling sensitive right now, and I'm sorry I have to be so blunt, but did Jack rape you?"

Hayley felt a lump form in her throat as she looked over at Phoebe.

"No," the teen answered quickly, shaking her head. "He tried, I think he was trying, but he didn't. Sam stopped him."

Hayley let out a breath of relief, still fighting back tears as she stroked her thumb over the back of Phoebe's hand.

"Can I sleep now?" Phoebe asked quietly, directing her question to Hayley who turned to the doctor and officers.

The doctor nodded his head at Hayley who let out another sigh of relief before turning back to Phoebe as they left the room quietly, "Yeah, you can sleep now, it's okay."

"And you'll stay with me?" Phoebe asked, looking impossibly small and childlike in the hospital gown and bed.

"Of course. I'm not going anywhere." Hayley told her softly. "Taylor's in the waiting room too, can I have him come down? It's okay if not. I can just send him home, I just feel bad leaving him in the dark and waiting out there all night."

Phoebe's lip wobbled as she looked over at Hayley. She liked Taylor. She really did, but just the thought of being around any man right now, or really anyone but Hayley felt overwhelming.

"No, it's okay, honey. I'll tell him to go home." Hayley quickly assured her, gently wiping her tears as if she'd read her mind. "I'm sorry," Phoebe broke down again, resting her head against Hayley's shoulder.

Hayley quickly wrapped her arms around her and shook her head, "Please don't cry, baby, it's okay. I promise it's okay."

"I just wanna sleep," Phoebe sobbed, and Hayley nodded, resting her head on top of Phoebe's.

"Then sleep, honey, it's okay." She assured her, pulling back to let Phoebe lay down.
