The walk to the Moonstone path was silent. I was carrying Zym in my arms, while I continuously tried to get the face that Nyx, Ezran, and Callum weren't even here with us. I glanced down towards Zym who had his head resting on my shoulder, he seemed to be just as saddened as the rest of us.

"This canyon leads to the Moonstone Path." Rayla's voice echoed around us, her voice was almost deafening compared to the silence we had just gone through.

"I can't believe we're almost to Xadia.. and half of our group isn't even with us." I had intended for the last bit not to be heard, but Rayla had quickly caught it.

"I know, but we can't think about that now." Rayla replied, glancing back towards me. "Their doing the right thing, and so are we." I nodded and felt Zym turn around, he let out a small yip as he saw the large river of lava that had stones that covered almost every inch of it.

"What was that you were saying about 'one simply walking into Xadia'?" I commented about to take a step forward onto the first stone. Rayla quickly pulled me back by my arm, the sudden action caused Zym to jump down onto the ground. "Hold on! There's sort of.. a trick to it." She briefly explained before crouching down and picking up a small rock. She gently tossed it over a few rocks, each almost instantly sinking down into the lava. "Not all the rocks sink that quickly. A few will let us stand on them long enough to walk across. Those special stone are called the Moonstone Path."

"Wonderful. Now how do we know-"

"Patience, friend." Rayla interrupted me. She gently grabbed my shoulder and turned me around, there were clouds that were covering the moon. They slowly uncovered the moon, and it's dim light shined down onto the ground below it. I turned around and saw a few of the rocks on the lava suddenly showing different moon runes(?)

"I see. Moonstone Path, very creative." I chuckled lightly as Rayla took a few steps on the stones that were lit up, she turned around and gave me a bow with her arms stretched out beside her. Zym let out and excited chirp, stepping out onto the stones, I followed right behind him and we all made our way across the stones.

About halfway through the Moonstone Path, I heard Rayla's voice break through yet another silence. The other difference was that the silence was caused by the both of us carefully watching where we stepped. "The sky's getting lighter. We need to hurry! If the sun rises, we won't be able to see the moon runes." We stood silent for a moment before I quickly grabbed Rayla's wrist and took off across the stones. It didn't take long for her to catch on and start running beside me.

The sun shined down on a few of the rocks right as we got close to making it across. The runes disappeared and we were stuck on whatever stones we were on. Zym hid behind my legs and let out a few whines, I heard him pause for a few moments before I felt him leap up onto my shoulders and place his fore-paws on top of my head. He climbed up onto my head and started to flap his wings, he took off into the air. Granted, his flying was sloppy and he looked to be having trouble, but he was flying!

"He's flying!" I looked up to Zym and heard Rayla cheer from beside me.

"He's trying to block the sun!"

Zym suddenly lost a lot of altitude and was trying to fly back up, he continued to step on the wrong stones which caused them to sink under the lava. Without needing time to think, I took in a careful breath before drawing out the Aspiro rune into the air. "Aspiro." I took in a quick breath before letting a large gust of wind start to push Zym up further into the sky.

Me and Rayla cheered as Zym landed safely on a large stone that had him perfectly placed in front of the sun. He turned around and outstretched his wings, it casted a large shadow over many of the stones in front of us and the runes started to glow again. "Run!" I heard Rayla call as she took off in front of me. I followed her and continued to glance down and make sure I was stepping on the right stones. By some miracle, we had safely made it to the other side, a large wave of relief washed over me as I looked back at the path that had now disappeared.
