Jules
Rue was annoyed. She had been waiting to show Chaos the intel for days now. While she waited, I trained. Trained with Riptide and Toxin. I learned how to fight; I learned to shoot. I learned enough, hopefully.
Rue bounced her leg, and waited for Hazard to give us the que that we could visit Chaos. I was nervous to tell Chaos what I was thinking we could do with the Ghosts. Turn them into Shadow.
I kept my doubt down. Or tired too. Who would listen to me? Stop it Jules. You are someone because of your mother. Vital now because your hands will get dirty with blood. I want that Island. I will have that Island, if it's the last thing I do. I will get what I want.
Rue was huffy and puffy and I paid no attention to her. Only sat back trying to figure out how to explain it to Chaos exactly what I want. What I need. I needed a way back to that Island though, that Device isn't completed for Midas.
Midas.
I don't think my mother would ever forgive me for ever teaming with Midas. Based on his reaction to my little drawing of her, they must have history. Mother may not forgive me, but what about Maya for Midas? Would she even forgive him for working with me?
First plan of action, get rid of Maya once the Island is mine. Maybe send her off to Riptide. I'm not sure just yet what to do with Maya. I don't want her killing me out of pure rage. What if she kills Midas! That would be a sight to see.
...Will it be...?
Rue and I looked up as Hazard left the room with Chaos. "You two can come in now," Chaos told us. Us two stood up and walked in and he followed behind us. "What is it that you wanted to tell me?"
Rue pulled her phone out and looked through it. "I had Jules go on a private mission that involved getting intel on Maya's new team." Chaos extended his three finger hand out as she found the files. "Maya was ambushed but then my team was ambushed instead."
He read everything. I never noticed that his gas mask made noise as he took in his breaths. He was skinny and scrawny. I wasn't sure if Chaos even ate because of his body being goopy blood. What was his strongest ability in him, I wondered. And where did they go if he died?
"Firstly, Jules should not be going on missions at all," Chaos said, sternly as he put Rue's phone down. She hesitantly took it. "But... Despite it being her first by herself, she did well."
I gave myself a mental pat on the shoulder as I really didn't do anything. "May I speak?" Chaos gave me the que to speak. "I know my mom didn't want me getting my hands dirty, but I figured since she isn't... around anymore," That hurt to say. "Maybe I could be more useful aside from an engineer. I have some suggestions about Maya's team."
Chaos put his hands behind his back. "What are you suggesting, specifically."
I gulped. "What if we don't kill Maya's team but rather... Try to convert them to Shadow?"
"Jules..." Rue whispered at me, staring at me.
I glanced at Rue then back at Chaos. "I mean, with your permission of course." Chaos was silent for a moment, his "eyes" not leaving me. "T-they have good abilities that they already know how to use, I think it would be better than taking them."
"My henchmen know how to use abilities as well," Chaos retorted.
I was losing this argument, I could feel it. I could stay to argue but I didn't see a point in doing so. I nodded my head and looked down. "Pardon her Chaos," Rue stuck up for me. "I didn't know she would suggest such a thing."
I drowned out everything else in the meeting with Chaos. My plan failed, I didn't know what to do. I had to rethink everything now. An intelligence ability would be good right now...
