"So Jimin, what's with you and Jungkook?" Namjoon asked as they made themselves comfortable on the couch. "We're friends. What do you mean?" Jimin answered looking as clueless as ever. "Okay if you say so, but I can't believe that our little Kook is getting so comfortable with someone so soon, he was so shy back in high school and he said he always looked up to me but took the longest to share his feelings and open up to me. I think it's a great thing though."
"Yep just like you Jiminie, he takes time to open up. So in a lot of ways they are similar that's why they get along. But I think Jungkook is trying to be friendly and including us in activities. Last week during a free period I bumped into him and he invited me to play video games, it was so much fun." Tae chuckled.
" So true, I bet he must have been excited to find someone who like video games as much as him, but I get Monie, Kook sees Jimin more as a friend than hyung." Jin said swinging his arms around Namjoon's shoulder.
Yesterday, during the last period, student council had their meeting. As soon as classes got over they we cleaning up and filing away the paperwork and memos when Jungkook like clockwork appeared. "Hi Namjoon hyung, hi Jimin hyung. I was so bored and had some time before dance practice so thought I'll pop by and say hi." Jungkook said giving his signature bunny smile.
"Hi Kook", Namjoon replied instantly without looking up from the stack of papers in front of him. "Hi Jungkook." Jimin also said locking eye with him. "Don't mind Namjoon hyung, he is having issues assigning space and time for clubs, there are a few overlaps. How are you? How were classes?" "Umm, I'm bored, classes were such a drag. I even had a pop quiz and I'm glad I didn't skip class today. What about you?" Jungkook said while automatically helping Jimin arrange the files in the cupboard.
"I'm okay, just... nothing" "Come on hyung tell me." "No really it's not a big deal." "Jiminshii" Jungkook insists as he turned Jimin towards him. " I didn't do well in a test as I expected, I studied but still during the test I panicked and couldn't remember. And it's 15 percent of the final grade." "Don't worry, it happens. If you want I can help you." Jungkook lightly squeezed Jimin's shoulder. "How?" Jimin softly replied and looked at him with wide eyes. " Just tell me when your next test is and I'll teach you my secret trick to being calm in stressful situations." "Hahahah isn't it just to not overthink and focus." Jimin jested. "Jimin..." Jungkook whined and shoulder bumped Jimin lightly. "I'm serious hyung."
"I know, thank you. It's next Wednesday at 2." "Great so Tuesday, after classes I'll meet you at the library, we can study and I'll show you my secret weapon." Jungkook leaned closer and whispered the last part in Jimin's ear. "Sure, let's do that." Jimin said turning his head slightly and looking into Jungkook's eyes. Their faces were only a few inches apart.
They held eyes contact for a minute till Namjoon cleared his throat, " I'm done. Let's go and this lock up. Causing Jimin and Jungkook to jump and quickly gather their things. After saying their goodbyes they went their separate ways.
Namjoon was brought back from his thoughts as soon the doorbell rang. Which revealed to be their neighbors who all were dressed to impress.
Hoseok was overjoyed to see his friends and had been nagging his fellow roommates to hasten getting ready. So rushing in, he hugged as his friends and popped on the couch grabbing a beer.
Followed by a grumpy Yoongi and a messy wet haired Jungkook who look like he just popped out of the shower.
Yoongi mumbled a quickly hello, and settled into a chair after grabbing his scotch on the rocks. Jungkook was busy trying to fix his hair. He grabbed a drink(Whiskey) just sat on the sofa next to Jimin and saying a shy Hi to every and apologizing for making them late.
Jimin just ruffled his hair as he couldn't handle his cuteness. "Hyunggggg" Jungkook whined cutely making Jimin melt into those chocolate brown eyes.
Soon conversations flowed, Namjoon, Yoongi and Taehyung were discussed some conspiracy theory about illumanati. Tae animatedly explaining why he thinks they might be real while Namjoon was playing the devils advocate, leaving Yoongi to explore both possibilities.
Jin, Hobi, Jimin and Jungkook were initially just catching up. When Hobi suddenly showed them pictures of his pet dog Mickey who lives with his parents resulting in Jin and Hobi cooing over 100's of photos of Mickey.
Jimin had noticed that whenever Jungkook was much better on a one to one talk than talking in a group which was so similar to him. But today Jungkook seemed to be distracted and fidget with his hair trying to tame the mess.
"Hey" Jimin softly nudged Jungkook trying to gain his attention. "Hi" Jungkook replied absentmindedly cradling his half empty drink in one hand. "Jungkoooooook" Jimin cribbed while tapping intently on his shoulder. "Yes Jiminshi." Snapping his neck to look at Jimin causing the faces to be a few inches away. " Did you have pets growing up?" "Yes one Doberman named Bam, he's 6 months old my parents got him as graduation present for me. What about you hyung?" Both not bothering to move away and continued their conversation. " Yes when I was in elementary school I had a Pit Bull Terrier and Korean jindo mix named Ddosun, I would run home after school to play with him. I literally took care of him but in Middle School he passed away and I was devastated. So, couldn't imagine getting another dog." Jimin signed with eyes becoming cloudy.
" Jimin.. Jimin hyung. It's alright, he's in a better place now. If you ever miss your dog you can just pop up to my home in Busan and play with him." Jungkook offered while rubbing Jimin's back.
Although the logistics may not be perfect but Jimin appreciated the gesture and just nodded while scrunching his nose.
As the evening progressed, Jungkook could not contain the strange feeling bubbling in his heart whenever Jimin did something cute like scrunching his nose or blushing whenever someone praise him.
Jungkook's hand still parched on Jimin's back, occasionally rubbing to comfort him.
