An Unknown Feeling ( A JIKOOK FF)

Jimin was crushed and hated that people thought of him as a clingy and annoying. His rational mind kept telling him that it's not true, Jungkook likes their playful banter and if Jimin doesn't give him attention he pouts and whines till he gets it.

But the realization of his feelings and Jieun's harsh words made Jimin feel like the 13 year old Jimin who was insecure and one of the girls who sat in front of him had jokingly said that she wouldn't date him as he was short, fat and ugly. In his core he somehow still believed that to be true. Plus at home, his dad always assumed that he wasn't smart. Unfortunately for Jimin he didn't perform well under pressure and stress.

It wasn't until his dad moved to the United States for work that his grades improved, thanks to his mom who use to motivate him and tell him that he's the best and he knows what he studied, helping him to relax and take it easy. Also telling him that marks aren't everything and just to do it best. Which helped but he had witnessed too many fight between his parents regarding him, cause him to hide in his shell more.

So, obviously in this situation of stress and anxiety, Jimin decided that it's best if he stays away from Jungkook. He didn't want Jungkook to figure out his feeling plus he didn't know if he was being obvious or not. But better safe than sorry right. He was petrified that if anyone found out about his true self they will leave. Even his mom who had supported him throughout had sometimes jokingly called him weird as he preferred to be alone than people or laughed at his ideas. He knows in his heart that she means well but those moments are ingrained into his brain.

So the next few days Jimin did everything in his power to act normal and not get too close to Jungkook. Even when Jungkook came up to him and asked him to go eat together he would say no. Or when Jungkook would sling his arm around Jimin, he would slightly move or suddenly go to Namjoon or Jin and ask random questions. Even when Hoseok would ask all of them to come watch their dance practice, Jimin always had an excuse. It was becoming noticeable as most classes had assigned assignments deadlines which were after the School fest.

It was noticeable especially when Yoongi and Jungkook came to their class during break time, Jimin blatantly ignored Jungkook and only paid attention to Yoongi which ironically annoyed all three of them. Yoongi being the genius that he is, gave Jimin the stink eye warning him that he is being too blatantly obvious when he refused the pack of juice which Jungkook offered. But Yoongi did skillfully divert Tae's attention from the two of them.

Jungkook had been trying all week to get Jimin's full attention but Jimin would barely acknowledge him and find some excuse to leave or talk to others. He started wondering if he did something wrong, maybe one of the jokes went too far and hurt Jimin's feelings. So, Jungkook had send Jimin messages asking to meet up for coffee which were no doubt refused. Then he sent him messages explaining some of the jokes and how he didn't mean anything by it. He even apologized for things he could think of which might have pissed Jimin like shoving him jokingly but all that came in reply was 'it's okay no worries.'

Jungkook was furious that Jimin refused the pack of juice which he was 100% sure that Jimin really liked. He didn't understand what went wrong, Jimin looked miserable and was withdrawing not just from him but everything.  His heart yearned for Jimin, he wanted to ease his sorrows and be there for him only if Jimin would let him.

As Jungkook and Yoongi were leaving, Yoongi said, "Give him some time, he's fighting some inner battles. He's come around."
"But I don't understand.."
" You didn't do anything wrong Kook. He'll be back to normal pretty soon."
" I miss him hyung"

Jimin was miserable is an understatement. He hated that he was making everyone worry around him and staying away from Jungkook was hard. That boy did not take no for an answer. Plus he knew hurting Jungkook hurt him even more so much that he was despising himself.

Jin and Hoseok had approached him about his behavior and lightly joked how Jungkook was pouting these days. Tae had bribed him with food and late night snacks but he didn't budge just brushing it off as exam and family stress.

Here they were on a Friday, watching Namjoon and Yoongi's rap battle. Namjoon's rap style is very diverse, unique, poetic where he can make mundane things beautiful and introspective in the way he looks at the world. His ability to express himself through his rap is marvelous and unmatched. While Yoongi's rap style is breathtaking expressive, deep rooted emotions and trauma flowing through his words and the ease with which he comments on societal evils. 
Everyone marveled at how both of them portrayed things in their lives eloquently and with a sense of nonchalance.

Tae was impressed although he knew that Yoongs is a sensitive yet a mysterious tundra kinda guy but seeing him in action makes him feel giddy with happiness. He knew that Yoongs was partial towards him and they bonded pretty well like peanut butter and jelly.
Tae has had boyfriends but nothing too serious mostly puppy love one experiences in high school. He knew that his liking for Yoongs was more than friends but was he ready to commit?

Jungkook on the other hand had stopped trying to break the wall that Jimin put up and accepted his fate. He might have cried himself to sleep and snuggled with Hobi who tried to pacify him.

Jungkook's eyes looked puffy with his unkempt hair it was understood that he is in a bad mood. He had snapped at people especially Jieun who flirted and asked if she could do something to uplift his mood.

Jimin noticed and was heartbroken but couldn't find the courage to go upto Jungkook and ask. He knew deep down that it's because of his dismissal that Jungkook was feeling down but his brain came up with a million reasons that it might be something else. Reinforcing his fears and insecurities that he means nothing and nobody cares about him that they just tolerate him.
