When All Lights Go Out I (TFP)

Cradling her against his chassis, Optimus was smiling as she relaxed on the chassis as he was feeling much better after Ratchet was able to recreate the formula for him to recover from the Cybonic plague. Azura was currently recharging after Ratchet had fed her. It has been several hours since Arcee and Bumblebee had returned from their successful mission and the formula that Megatron showed was working very well and very quickly. His body just needed time to recover some more, and he will be back to normal within a few days. At the moment, it was still unsafe for Optimus to feed Azura while the virus was still in his system, even with a cure, but Azura understood. She was just happy he was on the mend. And it would seem she was too.

Azura has not purged once during the last few hours, and when Ratchet scanned her while he fed her, he had noticed the infection was no longer being aggressive to her system. This was a good sign she was also starting to recover, but it could become aggressive again, so she still had be given the medicine for a while. She still sneezed, but it wasn't as bad, and her newly started organ was not reacting to the pressure and sneezing as much, so the last two times Azura sneezed, puffs of smoke and hot sparks expelled from her mouth and nostrils instead of fire or water. That was all good signs she was starting to recover as well. Her system was still hot though, so she had a cold bath before Azura had fallen into recharge and given to Optimus for him to hold her.

Now that Optimus was regaining strength, he had been told what happened when Arcee and Bumblebee were on the ship. Optimus had been unable to focus or register anything that happened with the cortical psychic patch as he was really struggling to focus at the time. But now that he has been informed about it, knowing that Azura had heard what Megatron had said made his spark hurt for her. After all, he's had to accept that Megatron is the reason she even exists. And he knew that a part of Azura would want to know Megatron.

Optimus rubbed Azura's back gently as she was curled on his chassis, hugging her large Stitch plush, while she sucked her thumb as he cradled her protectively. He was smiling as he was glad that she could now relax knowing he would be okay. Ratchet remained in the med bay to ensure that Optimus would recover from the plague, and he was grateful for his old friend to be there. He knew there would be no way that he would even be alive right now if Ratchet was not able to read the formula that Megatron had shared with Bumblebee.

"It is so good that we were able to get the cure in time. I am surprised that Megatron even gave up the cure at all," Optimus said thoughtfully as his optics remain on Azura as she recharges. Ratchet looked at him with a smile. "I do wish that Azura did not have to hear what Megatron had said. I imagine that his words will play on her mind."

"Maybe. But I got the impression that Megatron did not believe Bumblebee was being truthful about her being sick. He was trying to manipulate his position by using her as a reason not to give the cure freely." Ratchet looked at Azura and sighed deeply. "Unfortunately, Azura may take that very badly. I won't blame her if she does. After all, Megatron probably had not thought of her until that time."

"To be fair, he clearly lost his memory, so he was unable to think about her at the time. Maybe Megatron will think of her more if and when he wakes, though Arcee did say she shot him." Optimus still believed that it was best to keep Azura away from Megatron, as he did not believe it would go well if they met. "I am curious..." He looked at Ratchet as the medic waited for his question. "How did Azura react to seeing him? I don't think I've asked."

"Well...understandably, she was curious. But she certainly did not like his personality," Ratchet responded thoughtfully. "I think a part of her did really want to know more about him, but as she was watching the whole time, Azura did not like what she heard. I think she was just happy to see where her physical features come from. I don't particularly blame her."
