PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER ANALYSIS: Sonnet Silvestri is shy. She doesn't do good with talking, but her words on paper are unlike any other. She is an extremely talented author and poet. She has a lot of strong opinions, but she does not voice them and she is also very open-minded. Despite this, she can also be a little stubborn. She is lonely and naive, but intelligent. Her innocent appearance make her a target, but she used that to her advantage. Her faith and humanity and her loyalty to family are strong. That is what she fights for.
CHARACTER ARC: Sonnet Silvestri is the daughter of Lily Rose, a poet from District 12 who became famous for her rebellious poems against the Capitol that she wrote. Her poems were published anonymously, but she was eventually found out and put to death. Fueled by her mother's death, Sonnet continued her legacy and writes poems under a pseudonym. Delly Cartwright, Sonnet's childhood friend, was reaped for the 73rd Hunger Games, but Sonnet volunteered for her and became the sole winner of the 73rd Hunger Games. When Sonnet and Delly's childhood friend, Peeta Mellark, was reaped for the 74th Hunger Games, she and Delly were devastated. Peeta and his fellow tribute, Katniss Everdeen, became the first two victors of The Hunger Games, and Peeta eventually became the Mockingjay. As a way to get to Peeta, Sonnet was captured and tortured by the capitol, but she was rescued by Katniss Everdeen and the rebels. Unfortunately, because the capitol hijacked her, her memories were twisted so that she hated Peeta. It took a long time for her to put the pieces back together, but shortly after she did, she died due to bombs made by the rebels.
