My lungs fall flat.
"I- you noticed? " , I stutter.
"I told you, I do notice you y/n", Draco steps closer to me.
I don't dare breathe.
"You shouldn't. I'm not worth it", I try and take a step back but my back hits a pillar and Draco takes a step towards me again.
He is so closeI can practically feel his body heat and match his heart rate at this point. If I breathed now I swear we'd share the same oxygen.
"You're worth every second of it", He whispers low. His voice, the words, the way he said it runs down my body like a force of lightning, wrapping my bones in jelly, my legs broken in stance.
"There's someone coming" , I say fully aware that there's no one even near the courtyard.
"Let them", He says proudly asif being seen with me is something to be proud of. It shouldn't be.
"Alot of boys are talking about you, you know", He says bitterly.
He clenches his jaw, tension spreads thick between his lips as he looks down at me for a reply.
"No one talks about me", I reply back breathlessly.
Every sense of my body is going haywire with him so close. Rain clatters down beside us and his robe swings back with the wind. He almost looks-
"Then there's alot of no one's in this bloody school", Draco says almost sarcastically.
I look up to his eyes, bearing down at me, to try and read what mindfield his thoughts are walking through. For a split second I say yearning, jealousy and a battle he's having with himself. Something inside of me twists, pulls at my heart. For a mere moment, pressed between stone, I could see actual human feelings battling against each other and it's euphoric to witness. Like I had just discovered a book in the forbidden library amd I was the only child to read it.
"Draco", I sigh feeling half exhausted. My body turns into a raging rollercoaster when he's near and with Draco being so close to me makes the thunder striking the trees seem harmless in comparison to what's brewing inside of me. "What does it matter?", I continue.
Draco scoffs at this like I had just offended him and his previous generations. "How can a girl like you be so clueless?" He says ot more to himself than me.
"I don't know what you mean Draco", I plaster on a smile to try and smoothe over the tension clenched between his teeth.
Draco looks sideways for a moment, staring at the storm collapsing on the school grounds. I wonder if he finds it as calming as I do. He looks back at me and my thoughts get away from me.
"It matters because", His hand slams the pillar just above my head. "Nevermind l/n", He says regaining his usual confidence. "I have quidditch practice anyways" Draco turns and starts to walk away.
"In this storm?", I half yell to be audible above the rain and thunder unfolding ruthless strikes around us. "Draco are you crazy?", I push. "You'll catch a cold"
Draco turns around and gives me a smirk. "Worried, are we, y/n?"
"And what if I am?" I near him this time to have the upper hand in the situation.
"Then I'll just have to cancel practice then. You know incase I catch a cold". He starts walking away towards the hall leading inside the school walls. "Can't risk missing classes" Is the last thing I hear him say before he disappears behind the walls.
