"Ew, you stink, get off of me," Lexi laughed, shoving Ben.
"It's not that bad," Ben replied, laughing.
"Yes, it is!" Lexi exclaimed. "Put on some deodorant please!"
"I don't have any with me right now," Ben told her.
"Are you serious? Oh my god, you're disgusting," Lexi told him as she triumphantly pushed him off the bean bag chair. "Ask Rodrick if you can borrow his."
"You really think Rodrick has deodorant?" Ben asked, giving his girlfriend a pointed look.
"You're right. What was I thinking?" said Lexi.
"Hey! I do have deodorant," Rodrick said. "I'll go get you some, Ben."
And with that, he left the garage.
"I don't like that he's changing," Ben said suddenly, referring to Rodrick.
"Me neither," Lexi agreed.
"What do you mean?" Barry asked.
"Heather is changing him. Terribly," Ben replied. "He barely hangs out with us anymore. We only see him at lunch. He hasn't even asked Y/N to tutor him!"
"Well at least he's happy with her," Barry said.
"Is he though?" Ben asked. "Is he really happy with someone like Heather Hills?"
Barry shrugged. "I don't know, man. Let's just stay out of their relationship. This is his first girlfriend, we need to let him do what he wants. And soon, I'm sure he'll be back to the old Rodrick. Then I bet we'll be preforming with Heather watching."
"I doubt that's ever going to happen," Lexi said. "But you are right about the first girlfriend thing. He's probably too excited that he forgets about us."
Ben got up from the floor and sighed. "I just miss my friend."
"Don't we all," Y/N muttered.
Rodrick came into the garage, an aerosol can of deodorant in his hand. He handed it to Ben who sprayed it onto himself before passing it back to Rodrick who put on himself too. He then set the can on the ground. "One more practice?" he suggested.
"Nah, I've gotta go home," Barry said. "See you later, guys."
"Okay. Bye, Barry," Rodrick said as Barry carried his bass case out the garage. He turned to Y/N, Ben and Lexi. "Do you guys wanna hang out? We could watch a movie or—"
"Sorry, man," Ben said. "We already had plans." He pointed to himself and Lexi who got up from the bean bag chair.
Rodrick nodded slowly, head hanging low. "Oh okay. Bye, guys."
"See you later," Ben and Lexi said in sync. Then they left the garage.
Rodrick turned to Y/N. "Are you busy too?" he asked quietly.
She felt like saying yes and leaving him alone in the garage but her infuriating empathy got in the way. She shook her head. "No, actually," she said. "Well, I was planning to go to mall but I didn't want to go by myself."
"So, do you wanna go together?" he asked. She nodded and made her way out of the garage, Rodrick following her.
"Hey, is it okay if we go to Hot Topic? There's this sick shirt I want to get but I haven't had the chance to go there," he said, thinking about how Heather didn't let him go there whenever they were in the mall.
"Yeah, sure," Y/N replied. He smiled and followed her into his van. He pulled out of the driveway and played his music, feeling happy that Y/N wasn't criticizing his music like how Heather did.
