She felt the vortex energy around her as Optimus walked through it, and she knew they were now in the Arctic. She didn't know how close the bots had got the bridge to the mine, but she hoped it was close enough. She simply just relaxed and waited as she felt Optimus walking. The gentle pulse of his spark was all she could hear, whereas her own spark was pulsating quickly from her excitement and nervousness.
After sometime, Optimus stopped and opened his chassis slightly, and Azura tensed as she felt the rush of cold air flowing into the chassis, making her shiver lightly. "Are you okay, Azura? Is it too cold for you? I can close the chassis a little more if you need it."
Azura nodded as she shivered from the cooler air. The warmth from Optimus's body was stronger though, and she was able to feel it just fine. "Yes, I'm okay. It...It isn't too bad." Azura knew that she would take up his offer to close his chassis a little, but not yet. "Are we standing on top or near the energon crystals?"
"The crystals are near. If we were to take two more steps, we would be right on top of them," Ratchet responded to the sparkling gently. "Give yourself all the time you need, Azura. We will watch and ensure that you do not push yourself to the point of dangerous exhaustion."
"And whatever you achieve, will be a big achievement in itself!" Bulkhead added enthusiastically with a pump of his fist. "That is just as exciting. So do your best, but don't overdo it either. We all still love you and care about you, so I know things will be fine."
Azura exhaled softly as she too time to clear her mind. She knew that the bots aren't trying to pressure her, but she still felt like she had to do this right, or it would never be right. She allowed herself to calm down as she focused to let her body relax. She knew that simply moving the ice and snow will not be that simple. She looked at the snow in front of them, staring at it curiously before having an idea.
Hmm...I have heard that dragons can see heat and cold signatures, I wonder if I can. I'm not sure how though, but energon crystals do give off heat or some kind of energy. Hmm...I wonder...can I adjust my optics?
Azura has never explored that option before, and now it made her curious. It took her a moment to concentrate before her optics would rotate, as a different lens moved over her optics and she blinked in surprise as she was not expecting it to work. She glanced around in shock and smiled as she could see the energon crystals below. They were like glowing white lights beneath the snow.
I guess I can see them now...that will make it easier to create a sturdy cavern...hopefully...
Azura stared at the ground in front of them as she focused on the ice and snow. She could feel the chill of the frozen water in her veins, making her shiver some more, but she did not break concentration. She focused on an area a bit before the crystals and it took a moment before they all could hear and feel the icy shifting beneath them slowly. They could hear the cracks as it shifted, and the bots were a bit tense, and they even backed away a little bit.
Azura did not say anything as she focused, visualizing the cavern around the crystals, while hardening the ice in a way to keep it from collapsing, even though it would unlikely collapse as long as the autobots did not cause it accidentally. Azura groaned as she could feel her energy being sapped from her body. She knew she was going to need a break. It didn't take long to use up a lot of energy.
She huffed and closed her optics, reverting them back to normal for a moment as she relaxed and took deep intakes. Ratchet walked in front of Optimus to observe Azura's condition to make sure she was okay and not pushing herself. He scanned her body, making her jump and open her optics in surprise, but she smiled when she saw him. Ratchet looked at the results of his scan, and he definitely could see the drain on her body.
