Author's note: Part 9/??
The volunteers followed the owner of the farm as he showed them around. The place was wast, full of green and animals. It was a beautiful sight, and Rome regretted not bringing his camera. Not that he had a chance anyway. They stopped at the small pond, watching ducks and other small animals enjoying the water. The owner talked about the importance of the water ecosystem, but Rome was more interested in the colours reflecting on the water surface.
"It's beautiful." Pick's sudden presence next to him sent a shiver down his spine. It wasn't fair how much he was affected by him. Any other time, he would love all the sensations, but today they were rather painful. Rome wasn't in the mood to talk with Pick and wondered if he ever would be. His fingers touched the mark on his wrist out of habit. It brought him a small comfort.
"Rome." Pick continued talking, and Rome pretended not to care, though his heart thumbed in his ribcage against his will.
"I fucked up, didn't I?" The statement made him laugh.
"A big time." Rome turned to Pick, sending him the coldest glare he was capable of.
"It hurts as fuck." He pointed at his heart. Pick seemed to be taken aback by the sudden swearing, but Rome didn't care. He just needed to get all the pain out. To show Pick he can't play with him even though they are soulmates.
"Can't you decide if you want this? Want us? Can't you end this misery I am living in?" He pleaded. His eyes filled with tears, and Rome quickly whipped them with the back of his hand, showing off the soulmark. Pick had a nice view of the black R and dark grey P tattooed on Rome's ivory skin, staring at it like it meant something. But Rome was too hurt to read more into it. He turned around, hastily leaving his speechless soulmate behind.
