Lilith's pov

Ryland and I sat at our table during lunch. Kayla was walking over to us. She sat down and started eating. I look around for Kadence.

"Where's Kadence?" I asked. Kayla looked up before looking around.

"She was following behind me, she must have stopped at the bathroom," Kayla says. Ryland looked at me with the same thought. She would have told Kayla if she needed to go to the bathroom. She wouldn't have disappeared without saying something. I get up from the table and Ryland follows me. Kayla shoved the last bit in her mouth before running after us.

"I'm sure she is fine," Kayla says. We checked the bathrooms and came up empty. I looked at Kayla and she bit her lip. "Maybe she isn't," Kayla mumbled before grabbing Rylands hand. We split up and checked the halls before meeting back where we were. "Pft, I remember where she is now," Kayla laughed. I glare at her. "She had to tutor Ben. The teacher wanted her to do it because she has the highest grades in class," Kayla says.

"Where are they? I don't smell her anywhere," I say.

"Oh, outside she wanted you to bring her food," Kayla muttered. I stare at Kayla.

"How the fuck do you just forget something like that?" I asked walking back into the cafeteria to get Kadence something to eat. After I paid, I walked outside. Ben and Kadence were working at the table. Ben wasn't really looking at the paper Kadence was showing him. Ben looks up and sees me. He gave me a smirk. Ben was a werewolf from Rylands pack. He placed his hand on top of Kadence's she swatted his hand away.

"Keep touching her and that hand will be mine," I said to him before placing the food in front of Kadence, she smiled up at me.

"What took so long?" she asked. I narrowed my eyes.

"Your friend has a terrible memory and had us looking around the school for you until she remembered you were out here and wanted food," I say. Kadence nods before taking a bite of the burger. Kadence watched me as she ate. My eyes caught onto Ben's hand. He was reaching out to touch Kadence's face. My wings shot out and I cut his hand off with the end of my wing. I use my wing to block Ben. He was groaning and grunting in pain. Kadence's eyes widened.

"Did you just-" Kadence stopped talking before calmly walking away from the table and inside. After I turn around and watch her walk further in the school. I turn to Ben with a scowl.

"You didn't take my warning lightly. This hand now belongs to me," I sneer, picking up his hand from the ground. Ben looked down at his arm and he was crying now. His arm was dripping blood but it healed after five minutes. I was watching him cry with a smirk. I look down at his hand.

Kadence, Kayla, and Ryland's scent entered my nose. Kadence went to get them. I take a deep breath before waving the hand in front of Ben's face.

"Gee I hope you weren't right handed," I mutter with a laugh. Ben looked up at me with a glare.

"Alpha, she cut my hand off," Ben says. Ryland looks at me with wide eyes. Kayla looked at Kadence.

"Lilith you can't keep his hand," Ryland says. I shake my head with a scowl. I dangle his hand by his finger.

"This is mine now," I mutter. "His arm is already healed. I don't think you can reattach it," I say. The only way to reattach it is with the help of a witch.

"I thought Brezin was the only one who collects body parts?" Kayla asked. I glare at her.

"She does but I did warn him not to touch her again," I mutter.

"He didn't touch me!" Kadence shouted. I chuckle before looking at Ben.

"I was going to," he muttered looking down.

"It's a bummer really," I mutter. Kadence sends me a look. "Alright I'm sorry dude," I say, holding out his hand towards him.

"Really?" Ryland asked. I sent him a smirk.

"If he wins against Brezin," I mutter. Ben furrowed his eyebrows.

"Brezin? Who is that?" Ben questioned.

"My demon," I say leaning closer to him with a smirk. Brezin flashes her face. When she flashes her face it usually ends up haunting the person who sees it. They never know if it was their imagination or reality and sometimes it drives the weak crazy. Ben jumped back, his eyes wide.

"No, no. You can keep it," Ben says while gathering his things and running inside.

"Look at him being kind," I say. The bell rings. Ryland and Kayla look at each other. Ryland looks back at me with an unreadable face.

"Learn to control yourself or don't come around my pack," Ryland says before grabbing Kayla's hand and taking her inside. I look at Kadence. She had a frown on her face. Kadence grabs her stuff and starts walking to the parking lot. She turned around when she noticed I wasn't following her.

"Come on," she says. I raise an eyebrow.

"Where are you going?" I asked, following behind her. Kadence gets to her car before putting her things in the back.

"I'm taking you home," is all Kadence says. She starts the car and she drives to the house. We walk into the house seeing Lily in the living room with Cadell.

"Is that a hand?" Lily asked. I look at the hand with a smirk.

"Yes, do you want to see it?" I asked.

"No, Lilith, she doesn't want to see it!" Kadence shouted at me. Lily looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Alright you don't need to yell," I say. Kadence glared at me.

"I'm pretty sure I do. You just cut off another student's hand!" Kadence yelled. I clench my jaw.

"I don't see why you don't get why I did it. It's not like he didn't deserve it," I say. Kadence shook her head.

"He touched me one time," Kadence says.

"He touched you because he knew I was there so I warned him not to do it again. He tried to do it again so I took his hand before he could," I snapped. Kadence ran a hand down her face.

"What is going on? Whose hand is that?" Lily asked.

"A little werewolf thought he could test me by touching Kadence," I say. Cadell gave me a face saying he agrees with how I handled it.

"Do you agree with her?" Kadence asked. Cadell nods. Lily and her daughter shake their heads.

"Look you guys are human," Cadell says. Kadence glared at him.

"What does that mean?" Lily asked.

"It means the effect of the mate bond is stronger for us. You feel it to an extent. To us it's tripled," I muttered. My eyes shift to Kadence. "I couldn't see him try and touch you after you hit his hand away the first time. I'm sorry. I am gonna go stay at the palace for a few days. When you are done being mad at me stop by to let me know and I'll come back," I say. Kadence looked hurt.

"You're just going to leave?" she asked.

"Yes Kadence. You need to make peace knowing what I did. I'm not going to stay here and argue with you. This is who I am. I collect body parts and keep them as trophies. You just so happened to be there to witness it," I say.

"I thought it was Brezin?" Kadence asked. I gave her a look.

"Did you really think I wasn't involved?" I asked. Kadence's eyes filled with tears as I walked out of the house. I hear her crying causing my heart to clench. Lily comforted her daughter. I was leaning against the house debating if I would leave. Cadell walks out of the house and stands in front of me. My eyebrows furrowed as my beloved cried.

"You're torturing yourself standing here listening to her," Cadell says.

"I can't leave," I sigh. Cadell put his hand on my shoulder. "I have to, she is mad at me. Even though I hid the werewolf from her sight she still saw his hand being chopped off," I say running a hand down my face.

"Come on, I'll walk with you," Cadell says. I nod my head and we walk all the way to the castle.
