Jason came home late that night, he'd been pulled into a board meeting for the local cafe groups so didn't make it back until very late, Jayden had already gone to bed but Caleb was waiting up for his boyfriends return. He didn't feel safe going to bed by himself in case he ended up having a flashback or nightmare and waking up alone.

Jason suspected Caleb had some form of ptsd, but he couldn't exactly go to a therapist for it, he'd need to tell them what he'd done. All that would result in would be a hefty jail sentence, maybe even the death sentence. He couldn't risk that.

The noise of a key slotting it's way into the front door broke Caleb out of his thoughts, he'd been so deep in his own head he hadn't even heard the pick up truck pull into the drive or seen the headlights glaring through their living room window.

A moment later Jason stepped through the door, Caleb had expected him to be on edge or stressed due to the circumstances of why he'd been out but he seemed in relatively good spirits.

"Hey babe" Caleb called quietly out, he didn't want to be too noisy and wake up the irritable Jayden upstairs.

"Hi elf, good day?" Jason replied with a keen, firm smile on his face, Caleb knew that expression. It meant something had gone well.

"Yeah, it's been eventful. You?" He answered taking Jason's coat from his hands and hoisting it neatly onto the coat stand.

"Same to be honest, managed to get the cafe next door to us to split halfsies on the trash collection costs" he explained looking pleased with himself.

"That's good, that's really good!" Caleb whispered back as they sat together at the table. Recently costs had been getting intense so it was good to have some relaxation on something, even if it was just a small thing.

"Yeah" Jason responded nodding his head as he set his backpack down on the chair next to him. Caleb was sat opposite him admiring his features completely lost in the raven haired man's features.

"Have I got something on my face?" Jason asked a smirk appearing on his enticing lips.

"Sorry" Caleb laughed back averting his gaze.

"No you can keep staring, I like it" Jason insisted cockily making Caleb laugh again.

"Jayden saw me in just my underwear this morning" Caleb told him awkwardly, he was still feeling kinda embarrassed from the interaction. Jayden was his brother and all but he still felt humiliated by being seen with such little on.

Jason chucked shaking his head "How does he feel his big brother still wears briefs at 26" Jason teased making Caleb go even redder.

"Shut up" Caleb countered grinning at Jason, Jason sent him a knowing, teasing look. Jason had always loved to tease Caleb about his underwear choice. Even when he switched from tighty whities to just regular briefs the teasing didn't stop. It was Jason's favourite thing to tease him about. It made Caleb all flustered which Jason found cute, he also just loved to embarrass Caleb at any opportunity. Caleb didn't mind it though. He liked getting any form of positive attention from Jason, it could shift a bad mood away in a heartbeat.

"I told Jayden about... you know" Caleb confessed quietly moving onto more pressing matters than his embarrassing exposure, Jason's eyes widened for a second before he recomposed.

"All of it?" He queried, the question was an obvious one.

"No" Caleb sighed running a hand through his green locks stressfully. "Just about the... abuse, and yeah. He took it well, apologised about last night and everything" he explained.

"I'm proud of you elf" Jason told him softly, he reached over placing a hand on the back of Caleb's hand comfortingly. Caleb nodded letting out a breath he didn't realise he'd been holding, it was still so surreal to him Jayden knew what their dad had done to Caleb now, it was a secret he'd been holding close to his chest for so long with no intent of letting it slip.
