Caleb

One week till we finished college.

"And then it'll be Christmas, and everyone will be leaving to celebrate with their families, so we gotta party to end the calendar year." Thomas grinned as he handed me another bottle of beer.

One week till I could see Jenson again.

"When we all come back after Christmas break, we'll be fatter." Thomas shrugged as he took a swig from his own bottle. "We may as well add to the calories now. Then we can get fit in the new year. You know, burn it all off and shit."

Close.

Close to seeing Jenson.

So close.

"Fuck!" Hayden laughed as he leaned into Thomas's side. "Are you one of these 'New Year, New Me' kinda people?"

Thomas laughed.

"Nah," I shook my head. "Thomas is the same asshole all year long."

The smile soon fell from Thomas's lips as he nudged my shoulder. "Hey. You wanted to live with me when we came out here. Can't be that bad, can I?"

Smirking, I took another swig of beer, feeling the alcohol warm my body and I sighed, relaxing a little more as I leaned against the wall.

"How are you guys enjoying New York, so far?" Hayden's dark eyes glanced from Thomas to me, then back to Thomas again.

"I'm enjoying New York very much." Thomas grinned as he leaned over to kiss Hayden.

Rolling my eyes, I turned away from the two guys and focused on the horde of people dancing, chatting, shouting and getting absolutely wasted. Another Friday night. Another sorority house party.

Gracie seemed to know where all the parties were at. Appeared to be friends with every single sorority girl on and off campus.

Speaking of which ... I grinned as Gracie weaved her way through the bodies, her walk unsteady, her arms grabbing on to whatever and whoever she could to keep herself upright.

She looked up, saw me and waved, a big smile on her pretty face.

She really was pretty. I couldn't understand why she was still single. Surely the straight guys around here could see how beautiful she was. I mean, I was into guys and even I could see how gorgeous she was.

Why were these boys letting her go?

Unless she wanted to concentrate on her studies rather than some guy ... maybe I should ask her.

Yeah, I'll ask her.

Stretching out my arms out wide, I laughed as Gracie stumbled her way along the last couple of feet to fall heavily into my chest, my arms instinctively wrapping around her.

Ugh.

Giggling, she pulled back a little. "I've been looking for you!" She nudged my shoulder as my arms snaked around her waist, holding her weight, keeping her on her feet.

"Well, here I am." I offered her another smile and she reached up to bop my nose with her finger.

"Yes. Here. You. Are." A bop for each word.

The music was beating through the house, shaking the windows, pulsing through my body.

I glanced around from my place leaning against the living room wall, but all I could see was people. More people. So many people ... all crammed together in one place.

Most of these guys were strangers ... or had I met them before at another party?

I can't remember.
