I sat peacefully next to Randy's hospital bed, careful not to touch any machinery. Once we arrived at the hospital, Dewey and Randy were rushed into surgery. They were gonna be just fine, luckily.
Sidney was actually unscathed, if you ignore the trauma she endured from the whole endeavor. Unluckily, I was anything but unscathed. When I had fallen off of the second story balcony, I had apparently fractured my ankle and broken a rib. I also sustained a minor concussion, and wrist sprain.
By the time I had made it into the hospital I had apparently collapsed out of exhaustion. The adrenaline could only do so much and had finally worn off.
My crutches were propped against the wall behind me, I had pulled up a chair closer to Randy's bed so I could rest my head. Sidney stood by the window, looking out, lost in thought. She was wrapped in a blanket and gripped a now cold cup of coffee.
"Whatcha thinking about Sid?" I asked quietly, knowing what the answer would probably be. Last night was mentally taxing, and no doubt the three of us now shared an unspoken trauma.
"Just everything." She admitted, I wasn't shocked. A knock on the door caught our attention and we turned our heads.
"Sheriff Burke? Any news?" I asked when I saw the man enter the room.
"Yes," he revealed, but his sorrowful tone made Sidney and I exchange looks.
"I'm afraid mr. Billy Loomis and Stu Macher got away." Sidney and I let out twin gasps, "They weren't in the house when we arrived."
"Shit." I muttered, the fear present in my voice.
"Now don't worry girls, they are wanted, and the whole state knows what they look like." Sheriff Burke explained.
I relaxed slightly as I glanced over to Sidney.
"We'll be okay.." I said in an attempt to comfort Sidney, and myself. Probably.
"What's going on?" Randy croaked.
"Randy!" I exclaimed in relief. "Oh you had me so worried!"
"I never thought I'd be so happy to be a virgin." He said easing the tension in the air.
"I'll leave you kids alone." Sheriff Burke said leaving the room, closing the door behind him.
"B-Billy and Stu... they got away" Sidney croaked, tears forming in the corners of her eyes.
"Jesus, I don't think I can handle a shitty sequel." Randy said. I almost laughed but something about his words made me agree.
I didn't know what our future would hold, with Billy and Stu still out there. I just need to focus on healing and my education. If that's possible.
