My alarm bashed thrown my phone.

5:30 am

Beside me, Lyra was sound asleep.

I woke up and freshened up and went ahead to prepare my breakfast.

7:00 am

I decided to wake Lyra up. She stays over at a daycare since I have work till 5:00 pm.

"Baby, wake up."

"No, mommy, please, 5 more minutes."

"June, you told this to me 5 minutes ago, rise and shine now, come on."

With so much difficulty, she was able to keep her eyes open. She clinged to me as I helped her brush her teeth.

"I'm leaving. Be a good girl to Mrs. Johnson, yeah? And if anything goes wrong, let me know, okay?"

"Yes, mommy. I love you."

I responded with a kiss on her cheek.

"Love you more."

"Have a nice day, Selena." Mrs. Johnson said, and I responded positively with a smile and left for Morales.

Apparently, today is a really important day at Morales.

Some big shot billionaire is supposed to close a deal with us if everything went alright.

That is why we are supposed to be dressed too professionally.

Morales usually doesn't have a dress code for its employees, but for some days like these, we are supposed to.

To be honest, I despise suits.

After some good 30-minute drive, I reached Morales.

To say everybody was in a really big rush is a huge understatement.

I went through the rush, trying not to get crushed in between.

I sighed in relief once I entered the elevator.

"Hello there!" I startled when I heard a voice. I thought I was alone in the elevator.

I turned towards the owner of the voice, and it was none other than Dante Morano.

A very sweet Italian who also happens to be my colleague.

"Oh, hi. It's good to see you again. How was Italy?"

"Great. I was mostly staying over at my home or was out in the club with my friends."

"Sounds amazing. Hope you are prepared well for today."

The elevator dinged, indicating that we reached the I.T. department.

I stepped out along with Dante.

I was about to head to my office when Dante called out to me.

"Sel, I really wish you would consider what I told you a while ago."

So, Dante happens to have a crush on me for the longest time.
