Behavior problems...

"YUUUU! You left me!" Grim scurried over, his tiny paws flailing. "You didn't wait for me outside of class!"

"Oh, sorry about that, Grim. Guess I got sidetracked," Yuu apologized sheepishly. "Come on, let's head inside."

"You better buy me a can of tuna tomorrow to make up for it! Deuce found me wandering around like a lost kit. I didn't even know where I was! I looked everywhere for you, but these stubby legs didn't help at all!" Grim huffed, his tail flicking dramatically.

"Okay, okay! It won't happen again," Yuu promised, placing a cake into the fridge.

Once Grim was asleep, Yuu stepped outside for some fresh air. She gazed at the night sky, her mind wandering.

"I wonder when I'll ever get to go home..." Yuu murmured to herself.

Suddenly, she spotted a figure nearby. The boy had horns and seemed just as surprised as she was.

"Ah! G-Ghost!" Yuu yelped, stumbling backward.

"Ghost? How rude," the horned boy said, raising an eyebrow. "A child of man, are you? How curious."

Yuu blinked, trying to process the sight. Horns? Well, that's not too weird, considering the guy with lion ears and a tail...

The boy continued, "Do you live here? This dorm was supposed to be abandoned. I rather enjoyed its solitude."

"I'm the dorm prefect, Yuu," she said, puffing her chest slightly. "And you are?"

"Yuu? An unusual name. I am... no, never mind. I'd rather you remain unaware," he replied cryptically. "You may call me whatever you like, though you may regret it one day."

Yuu tilted her head. Why is everyone in this school so dramatic?

The boy sighed wistfully. "If you've taken up residence here, then this dorm is no longer abandoned. Pity. I'll have to find another place for my nocturnal strolls."

And with that, he disappeared into the night, leaving Yuu bewildered.

"Fireflies..." she whispered, watching the glowing lights fade away.

The Next Morning

"What a wild dream," Yuu muttered, stretching as she got out of bed.

"Yuu! Breakfast is getting cold! Hurry up!" Grim called from the kitchen.

"I'm coming!" Yuu quickly got dressed, pulled her hair back, and put on the ramshackle uniform the headmage had given her.

As they walked out, Grim tilted his head. "Did you go somewhere last night? I got up to warm some milk, but you weren't in your room."

"Oh yeah, I saw this strange guy in a green vest with horns. He was super mysterious and said I could call him whatever I wanted."

"Horns?!" Grim exclaimed. "We should call him Tsunotarou!"

"Tsunotarou? That's... oddly fitting," Yuu said with a chuckle.

"If he's a student here, we might see him again. When we do, introduce me! I've never seen a human with horns!" Grim demanded.

"Sure thing," Yuu replied.

Just then, Cater bounced over to them. "Yuu! Grim! Good morning!"

"Hey, Cater," Yuu greeted.

"Look at all the likes our selfie got!" Cater exclaimed, scrolling through his phone. "People are obsessed with you! Look: 'She's so pretty!' 'What's her skincare routine?' 'Does she have a Magicam account?!'"
