The next day-

The sun streamed through the windows of the new dorm room, casting a warm golden light over the simple, cozy space. Yuu sat up in bed, stretching her arms above her head as the usual morning sounds filled the air—students chatting in the hall, footsteps in the corridor, the faint hum of breakfast being prepared in the dorm kitchen.

The events of yesterday felt distant now, almost like a bad dream that had faded with the rising sun. Grim was curled up on his cushion, half-awake, grumbling about being forced out of bed before noon.

"Hey, Henchhuman, are you up yet? You sleep too much," Grim mumbled, blinking one eye open.

Yuu gave him a small smile. "I was up before you, actually. Just... waking up slowly."

Grim grumbled in response but didn't argue. He was usually the first to wake up and get moving, but this morning had a lazy, peaceful energy to it.

The first light of dawn slipped through the curtains of Yuu's room, gently waking her from a restful sleep. She stretched, a quiet yawn escaping her lips as she sat up, blinking against the softness of the morning. Grim, curled up at the foot of her bed, gave a small snore in his sleep, his tail flicking every now and then.

Yuu smiled softly at her familiar surroundings. Everything was calm. The day was beginning like any other.

After stretching again, she made her way to the small bathroom to wash up. The cool water splashed against her face, refreshing her for the day ahead. It was a simple routine—one that she'd come to enjoy despite the chaos that often followed.

She dressed in her usual school uniform, the fabric crisp and neat. As she combed her hair, she heard a muffled grumble from Grim, who was now waking up and stretching lazily.

"Five more minutes," Grim groaned from under the covers.

"Grim, if you want breakfast, you need to hurry up," Yuu called out, teasing him gently.

With an exaggerated sigh, Grim rolled off the bed and landed on the floor with a soft thud. "Fine, fine. I'll get up. You don't have to sound so excited about it."

Yuu chuckled and grabbed her bag, heading to the dining area.

The cafeteria was bustling with students as usual, everyone talking amongst themselves or absorbed in their own morning routines. Yuu grabbed a tray and joined the line for breakfast, picking out a selection of food she felt like today. Scrambled eggs, a slice of toast with butter, and a cup of juice.

Grim followed closely behind her, already eyeing the selection of meat. He grabbed a plate with several slices of bacon and a couple of sausages. "Aha! Finally, breakfast!" he said triumphantly.

As they sat down at one of the nearby tables, Yuu couldn't help but smile as Grim dug in, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. It was always nice to have these quiet moments, especially when the day was still young and full of promise.

Ace and Deuce appeared shortly after, both walking into the cafeteria together. Ace was his usual laid-back self, while Deuce seemed more serious, though still as friendly as ever. They waved at Yuu before joining her at the table.

"Morning, Yuu!" Ace greeted with a grin. He flopped down into the seat next to her, clearly in a good mood. "So, how'd you sleep? Any monsters lurking in the shadows last night?"

Yuu rolled her eyes playfully. "No, Ace, no monsters. Just a normal night."

"Good," Ace said with a smirk. "Can't have you going off on another 'life-threatening adventure' this soon."
