"Guess it's safe to say we found it." I narrowed my own eyes at the rounded battle station still shown on the screen.
"Contact Obi-Wan. Stubby, scramble Secret Code Set 1477." Anakin instructed his new droid. "I don't want that station to pick this up."
"Right away." R3 responded cheerfully, extending his link into the port once more. I rolled my eyes hearing R7 complain, wobbling on his little feet in frustration.
Soon the projector at the Twilight's controls whirred to life. A smaller than life size Obi-Wan shooting up from the puck, his hands immediately finding his hips.
"Anakin?" He greeted curtly.
"Master, I believe we've found your Separatist listening post." Anakin informed him, my eyes travelling past Obi-Wan to where the battle station should be.
"Excellent work." Obi-Wan commended him. "Back off and wait. I'll send two mainline cruisers to help you destroy it."
"But R2." Ahsoka chimed in sadly.
"We believe my droid, R2, is on board." Anakin relayed the information to his former Master. "He's the one that led us here."
"Hmm, this complicates things." Obi-Wan hummed, his hand gravitating to his beard. He began to stroke it as he thought, a habit that had become apparent to me as soon as he grew it. I shook my head, trying to stifle my slight chuckle. "You must sneak aboard that station and destroy it before they crack R2's memory banks. I know you're fond of that droid, but he's fallen into enemy hands."
"We could rescue him." I offered, folding my arms as I made my way over to the projector.
"No, this is not a rescue mission." Obi-Wan scolded me, abruptly cutting his end of the transmission off. I sighed once the blue light had gone, of course he wasn't going to like my idea. But I was with Anakin not Obi-Wan, and I knew he'd go for it.
"Keep jamming their scanners." Anakin ordered the pilot. "If they spot us, we're dead."
With the ship smoothly sailing ever closer to the station, everyone began to gather in the cargo hold. Anakin's starfighter, still ringless, housed inside leaving less space than usual. However there was plenty of room to wait before we dropped down onto the station itself. R7 was practically glaring at R3, if astromech droids could glare that is.
"We're bringing the droids?" Rex questioned, glancing between R3 who Ahsoka was preparing and R7 next to my leg.
"We'll need them to open secured hatches and access the station's computer for us." Ahsoka told him, standing back up from her crouched position. "Oh, and, Rex, you get to carry Goldie." Ahsoka happily shared the news with him, leaning one hand on R3 while the other found her hip.
I smiled as she walked off, watching Rex's eyes widen before dropping down to the golden coloured droid whose head clicked around so he could look up at the man. He beeped happily in greeting, excited to be going on the mission.
"Ah, that's just great." He grumbled out, causing me even more amusement until R7 piped up.
"You don't have boosters? Clearly you're not as important as you think you are." R7 childishly beeped at R3 in quick succession.
