A/n:
Just like the previous chapter, so too does this one take place earlier than it aired. So I am returning it to its designated spot in the timeline. <3

Desperate times call for desperate measures!

In one of the longest and fiercest battles of the war Separatist forces are on the verge of claiming the planet Malastare.

If the Republic loses this planet it will cost them vital fuel resources necessary for maintaining their armies.

In a final effort to turn the tide of this battle Supreme Chancellor Palatine has authorised the use of the Republic's newest weapon: the electro-proton bomb.

Now at the Imperial palace of Doge Urus the leader of the Dugs the Jedi count down the minutes until the detonation of their doomsday device.

My foot tapped nervously against the balcony flooring. My fingers tracing over my lips as I watched from a distance. I shouldn't be watching from a distance. None of us should be, and yet here we were standing and watching the clones and Dugs take cover from the Separatist forces that marched ever closer to the palace. Their numbers were extravagant, there was absolutely no way those down on the battlefield could win.

"I won't allow my people to become Separatist slaves." Doge Urus said but I was unable to draw my attention away from the battlefield ahead of us. My mind was overwhelmed with worry over using the bomb. What if it didn't work? What if it did work but killed everyone, including our men? Rex was down there. I closed my eyes at that thought. Alongside countless others I was acquainted with of course. It wasn't just Rex. Why did I single him out?

"I assure you, Doge Urus, that will not happen." Chancellor Palpatine said, his voice tinny due to joining us via hologram not being able to be here himself. If the bomb launch did go wrong he was the only one most likely to survive. The rest of us would be wiped out. Cowardly in my opinion, but Anakin would tell me that he can't be everywhere. My jaw clenched. "Dr. Boll has stated that only droids will be affected by the bomb's electron field."
