Boarding my designated transport ship, my fingers flexing at my sides. The waiting was bad enough, actually getting on the move should have been a relief. It was, in a sense, everyone on my cruiser is always antsy, including myself. The thought of many of the citizens of Ryloth being held by Separatists felt like a weight on my shoulders however. One had been removed and an ever so slightly lighter one had taken its place.
"How long until we reach the surface?" R7's beeping at my side had me blinking as I shook my head.
"I don't know." I answered, rolling my shoulders back before bringing them back forward. A soft tapping drew my attention downwards, my foot was absentmindedly tapping against the ship's floor. Hopefully I was the only one on the transport full of chatter that could hear it, and if anyone else could they didn't say a word.
"I've never been to Ryloth." R7 reminded me, even though I already knew that seeing as he hadn't been anywhere without me and I'd never stepped foot on Ryloth. "I wonder what it's like... Whatever it's like, I'm excited!" My eyes travelled to him, hearing him thrill at my side.
On instinct my hand found the top of his orange head, gently patting him to comfort myself more than him. He didn't seem to need it as much as I did. R7's beeped happy gibberish at me in response to the affection, making me smile down at him fondly. At first I was worried R7 would be in danger if he accompanied me and the Wolfpack but now that he's here and we're about to depart I'm glad he's with me.
"Ship's away." Admiral Goodwin's voice echoed out from my wrist.
I let out a heavy breath, my grip on the handle above my head tightening, feeling the transport ship carefully lift off the ground. My other hand remained atop R7's domed head, as Chase led us out of the cruiser's hangar and began the descent to the planet below.
