Y/N
All of us stood up as Xueer walked through the doors. A smile stretched her lips as she headed straight towards us. I glanced at the princess and she seemed to be in a pleasant mood. I am, too. I mean, if Xueer is here and she said she's looking for the princess, then that means that she have plans for the two of them.
That would then mean that sooner than later, they would both leave. i would finally be able to be at ease and be saved from high chances of awkwardness. Just my luck.
"So,, what brought you here, princess?" Xueer asked. Her eyes were quite literally gleaming as she looked at the other girl expectantly.
"I stopped by to pass some time," the princess answered.
How dry.
A long silence followed that. As Xueer's eyes landed on me, I gave her a small smile before turning away to clean up the bowls we used. I'd rather not get involved in that. Whatever it was. I took the bowls to the stone sink and proceeded to soak them in water. I rolled my sleeves and reached for the scrub but paused as a figure loomed over me.
"What are you doing here, princess?" My brows were slowly meeting as I looked at her, at a lost.
"Watching...?" she answered with her usual tiny smile as she put her hands behind her back.
"You've never seen anyone wash dishes before?" I mumbled, almost incredulously.
All she did was give a small shrug and blink at me. Unbelievable. But what can I expect? She's a princess. I guess I shouldn't be so surprised that she hasn't experienced most normal things. I slightly shook my head. I was about to turn back to the sink when I stopped in realization. I glanced back and true to my hunch, I saw Xueer looking over at us.
"Anyway, Lady Xueer seems excited to see you, princess. She came all the way here," I commented, hoping that she would get the clue.
"Yes, I wonder what that was about," she mumbled as I scrubbed the bowls and spoons. I glanced at her in disbelief.
"You don't know? It's obvious that she - never mind." I shook my head. i shouldn't be the one saying that even though it's already painfully obvious.
I just tried to finish washing up the dishes as quickly as possible. Soon, I was wiping my hands and headed back to where we were previously sitting. Xueer was still there, standing almost awkwardly as she fiddled with her hands and spared small smiles to the helpers who would pass her. Upon seeing me, she gave a pleading look and subtly gestured to the princess. I just gave her a grin and nodded towards the girl. Go ahead.
"Oh, I... Princess, I was wondering. You know..." Xueer started and repeated her words as her hands gestured around. I gave her an encouraging look and nodded. "If you would be interested in spectating a game of touhou?"
As soon as she finished, she clasped her hands together tight as she waited for an answer. And honestly, if I was the princess, I wouldn't even have the heart to even think about saying no. Not when Xueer looked really hopeful with her wide eyes and smile.
"I am sorry. I already planned to spend the afternoon with Aihan."
...
Eh? My brows met as I turned to look at the princess. What the heck is she talking about? I looked at her as if she was some strange creature from an equally strange planet. What she's saying is definitely not helping me at all. Especially with Xueer. I mean I just barely convinced the girl that I am in no way standing between her and the princess.
I turned to Xueer and just like what I suspected, she was already looking at me in question. I quickly shook my head at her, trying to say that in no way did I know anything about that, and that I, too, was just as confused.
