Sage POV
"Do you need any help?" I looked at the florist. Shit do I need help? We've never discussed flowers before.
"No I got it, thank you." I told her but secretly I did need help. Roses are overplayed, daffodils are kind of ugly, sunflowers look weird.
I think I'm stuck, I got the balloons, the card, the snack basket, the bear, but picking flowers? Yeah nah I'm stuck. Then I gotta get the dog.
I'm finna say fuck the flowers.
Nah if I want her to be mine fr I gotta make it special.
Ight lemme think about what she'd like?
Her favorite color is burgundy, she likes expensive stuff but prefers when I put some thought into it.
I thought for a minute longer while looking at all the different flowers. Make my own bouquet cause these are kind of basic.
I'm thinking pink and white carnations, some Lilly of the valleys, buttercup flowers, and some other shit.
"Actually I think I might." I said to the florist asking her to come here. All I need is for someone to tell me it's a good idea.
__________
"Whose dog is this?" Chris said coming in the house.
"Me and Denise's, I thought you were spending the night over your friend's house?" I questioned her as i put the flowers in a vase.
"I am but I have to tell you something important though." I looked at her. "Okay what is it?" I asked and I noticed she started getting nervous. "So you know how I've been going out with my friends and stuff?" She paused and I nodded.
"Well truth is I've been hanging out with da-" Chris tried to tell me but I cut her off.
Nope not tonight.
That would ruin the whole mood I set.
"Look tell me this tomorrow or whenever just not tonight or right now." I told her and she nodded. I walked over and hugged her as I noticed tears dropping down her face. "Look it's fine I promise we can talk about this another time just not tonight." She nodded hugging me back.
When speaking about dad it was a sensitive subject for me and she knew that so it's one of the reasons why she started crying.
I sent her to go get her stuff and when she came back we talked about something else before I went to go set the stuff up in my room while the dog followed.
Ima just keep calling it dog until Denise names it.
It was a small cute brown labradoodle.
It was about 6-7 months old and it was already trained all I had to do was buy some pads and lay them around the house.
After I finished setting up the room I ordered some Buffalo Wild Wings. This was starting to be a routine for us every Friday she'd come over and I'd cook or order DoorDash then we'd talk and spend the night together while I rub her feet, then that following Saturday we'd go on a date then she'd go home and we'd be back to talking on the phone unless we have a date planned.
Unless we just missed each other and popped up at each others houses.
So far nobody hasn't spotted us from school yet so we've mostly been chilling with petty arguments here and there. I don't really entertain them because ion want nun to come between us that isn't serious. Plus Dee knows she can't stay mad at me.
I'm bout ready for her to meet my grandma but that's a bit too far.
Then again I've only known her for less than 5 months and I'm tryna make it official?
But then again I feel comfortable and like myself when I'm around her. The best version actually.
I watched tv in the living room with the dog laying on my lap.
I started watching this k drama on Netflix called remarriage and desires. Every time I try and get into it I get distracted so then I have to start it all over again. I fr can't even get past the first 30 minutes without restarting it.
Oh yeah and me and Denise kissed!
I mean I really don't even remember how it led up to that but all I remember is feeling nervous and giddy. After it happened I was blushing and giggling for no reason at all. It was perfect too it wasn't rushed or lustful it was like sumn outta a fairytale.
"Wait what happened?" I asked myself and the tv as I got distracted again.
See this is what I'm talking about.
As the time passed by the food came then more time passed and Denise still didn't show.
I texted and called her but she still didn't answer.
I wasn't tripping too bad on it she was prolly busy studying and shi.
I bonded more with the dog before I started finding things to occupy myself while I waited. I ate my food then put hers up and she still didn't show.
I texted and called a couple more times before deciding to go to sleep.
