2 years Ahead Sage POV
"I want you to meet my parents."
"Huh?"
"You know you heard me." Denise said rolling her eyes. "I'm not sure because it sounded like you said you wanted me to meet your parents." I reiterated the question smiling. "Mhm and since you came to see me I'd like for you to." Dee confirmed running her fingers through my hair. I licked my lips trying not to die in this 1v1 while also trying to reply. All that kept coming out was 'um' or 'I um' my mind completely went blank when I caught sight of Jodie's gta character. GTA 1v1's was something serious especially when you didn't have on automatic aim, this needed my full attention right now.
Especially since I was playing with Jodie, the nigga was too good for no reason.
I just know mfs hate to see him coming.
Shit I hate to see this nigga coming.
"You must be done hiding me." I joked making her kiss her teeth. "I was never hiding you." She said and I hummed. "Yeah okay, but I'll meet them if you want me to." I said not really caring. I wasn't the type to seek approval from anybody so meeting her parents wouldn't really phase me nor change anything. "Okay tomorrow night-"
"Fuck!" I sat up abruptly as I died. "My bad baby hold on." I told Denise. I fought the urge to throw my already damaged controller then locked in. "Mmcht come on bro not right now." I said as the controller drift started drifting. When I say that shit started pissing me off it really did especially when I died. "It's just a game." Dee said knowing those words piss me off even more. I put the controller down then looked back at her holding up my middle finger and she did it back. "Faggot." I added and she gasped.
"Okay now when you want-"
"I was just playing princess." I cut her off already knowing where it was going. "Nope." She shook her head. I looked over her posture then nodded. "Okay." I said knowing she'll give in instead. She was trying to bait me up, set the tone of what she wanted, then hear me beg for it, but it wasn't going to happen. Not tonight. "Wait-"
"What were you saying about your parents?" I got situated in my original spot but this time laying on my stomach. "They wanted me to come over for dinner tomorrow night and since my dad keeps asking about you I thought why not have you come." Dee explained and I nodded. "So I'm going because your dad keeps asking." I relayed what I got from that and she shook her head no. "N- well when you put it that way... No." she concluded. We talked more about it and she gave me some insight about her dad.
Then she started asking me questions that she think he would ask me.
Let's just say I 100% failed the quiz.
"Maybe instead of saying that you can say ..." Dee recommended. "Nah I'd rather just keep it simple and say I'm a carpenter." I told her resting my head on her stomach.

Next day"You seem more nervous than me." I told Denise as we sat in her car Infront of her parents house. Actually It wasn't even a house it was a big ass mansion with a long ass driveway. "I am I just really want him to like you." She admitted referring to her father. She's been nervous ever since we started getting ready and even set out some clothes for me. I feel like she only did that because of my tattoos since I had on a long sleeve collard shirt. What I originally planned to wear was a polo shirt, khaki shorts, and probably some forces. "What if he doesn't?" I asked and she shrugged. "Then I guess that would be very unfortunate." Dee answered and I hummed.
"Alright and I hope you know I'm not going out of my way to impress anybody." I said and she nodded grabbing my hand. "I already know that baby." She answered making me smile. After a minute we got out of the car and I followed Denise into her parents home. It was beautiful on the outside but in the inside it just felt so lonely and cold. Don't get me wrong the inside was beautiful too especially with the way it was decorated but it just really didn't feel homey. It's like cozy cottage house vs a UK home with depressing weather. I wonder what it felt like growing up in a house like this. Denise abruptly turned around as we were about to enter to what I assumed was the living room. "Are you..." my sentence went out as she smoothed over my shirt.
After she did that she took a small step back then nodded in approval. "Sorry I'm just nervous." She said taking that same small step forward then placing her hands on my chest. "It's fine just don't think about it too much." I told her. She took a deep breath nodding, she gave me a small kiss then put one on my cheek. "Which one of your parents are white?" I questioned as she turned around. "I'm not answering that." Dee told me and I blew a raspberry. There's a difference between white dad mixed and white mom mixed and I just couldn't tell with Denise. She gave off both and Shawn just gave off unstable daddy issues. I caught sight of a middle aged woman who sort of resembled Denise.
Okay so her dad is white, yeah that seems about right. I stood there quietly rocking back and forth on my heels until Denise introduced us. "Mom this is-" "Sage! Awww finally I get to put a face to the name." Her mom exclaimed. I stuck my hand out smiling but she smacked it away and instead took me in for a hug. It took me a minute to hug her back because I was so caught off guard and I really didn't like touching people I barely knew. She pulled back smiling then apologized. "Apologies I'm just so happy to finally meet the woman my daughter constantly talks about." She said and I raised my eyebrows taking a glance at Dee to see her blushing. "Oh really? No worries though Ms?..." I trailed off not knowing what to call her. "Just call me Olivia dear." I nodded smiling. "Oh don't mind me you know." Denise chimed in making us chuckle a little bit.
We sat on the couch as Ms.Olivia started asking questions about myself which I honestly answered. Not too long later her dad appeared making the atmosphere somewhat awkward. He sat directly Infront of me and it honestly felt like he was trying to intimidate me with the way he stared at me. I smiled offering my hand while introducing my self. "I'm sage." He took a glance at my hand then reached his out firmly shaking it. "Ryan." What a basic name. "Mm." I nodded letting go of his hand. "So what do you do for work?" He asked. "I'm a carpenter." I answered keeping it simple. "Why? Do you not have a degree? Or finish high school?" I slightly tilted my head realizing he was serious.
"Actually honey sage was just telling me about her bachelors degree in business and what she was doing with it." Ms.olivia said making me nod.
"Yeah." I agreed.
First impressions were everything and this first impression of him wasn't going so well. To be a carpenter u gotta be a drop out or uneducated?
"Denise come help me start dinner." Her mom said getting up and I looked towards Dee. "I'll be right back." Dee told me making me nod. After they went to the kitchen me and Ryan just stared at each other. "So what do..."

Denise POV"Baby girl!" My father beckoned me over. "Yes daddy?" I answered walking over. His face remained stoic as ever not even giving away the slightest of emotion. "Sage she uh..." He trailed off trying to find words to say. "Sage?" I questioned as he didn't say anything and just stared at me. "Does she treat you well?" He asked and I nodded. My heart already speeding up at the mention of her. "Yes, amazingly so and I'm so happy with her daddy so if you don't like her or- or approve of her I don't know what to tell you. I feel so-"
"Denise." He shut me up making my shoulders drop. "You don't like her do you?" I asked frowning a little. It was everything for my dad to approve of my relationship but sage was my everything and I didn't want to let her go so I wasn't going to. "She's alright-" "AGHHHHH ARE YOU SERIOUSSS??" I shouted happily hugging him. "Yes I am when am I never? You should bring her over-" he was cut off by another one of my screams.
Never had he offered for someone to come over.
He claimed he didn't 'like people' but I think it was just his antisocial side.
Might seem like an abrupt lil ending but we got shi to do
