Sage POV

I sat back on the couch after grabbing my solo cup. Shawn was having a lil kickback at his house and me and rye decided to come. "Man you got all the hoes looking at you." Rye said shaking his head adjusting his cap. "They not looking at me, they looking at Shawn." I corrected and both our gazes drifted towards Shawn. The theme was dress like your favorite 80's or 90's rapper and Shawn went for an Eazy-e look. He was Lowkey rocking that shit I didn't think he could do it cause he was bright.

Rye went for a 50 cent look and I didn't really have a favorite rapper so whatever song played on my playlist was my inspiration. Nelly played first so y'all know I had to do my lil shi.

"Ima tell on him." Rye said and I chuckled. "They on a break so it's fair game." I countered and he rolled his eyes. "That don't matter- wait that's unusual of you to say that." He looked at me skeptically and I shrugged. If you and your girlfriend are not actively together as a couple and decide to take a 'break' yall basically breaking up. The 'break' is just so you don't go out looking for anybody else while they figure out if they still wanna be with you or not.

It's a guessing game because what do you mean we're together but not together?

I'd rather just break up than having to be a second guess choice. That's not something I'd personally wanna go through and something that I WOULD wish on my own enemy.

But it's different when both people agree to it.

"Nah that's unusual for YOU to say because you be the main one talking to other girls while in a relationship." I told him before drinking from my cup. "Ima pimp that's what I do." He grinned and I laughed shaking my head. We talked about something else before getting up to head towards Shawn. Gangsta lovin' started playing and I started singing along to it loosening up. I didn't know nobody in here except for rye and Shawn so I was on guard.

"Oh there she goes." Shawn said and I followed his line of sight to see Denise and her fiancé. I forgot his name not that I tried to remember it or anything. We locked eyes for a split second before she looked away. She looks beautiful in every which way, I can't believe she's settling with a white dude.

She's been avoiding me ever since Thursday night and I felt some type of way about that. I don't think I did anything wrong so why is she avoiding me? "Ima go refill my cup." I told them before walking away. Even though I just got here 30 minutes ago I was probably finna leave.

"Excuse me."

"Hm?" I turned my head.

"I like your outfit, by the bandaid and the cap I'm guessing your favorite rapper is Nelly." The lady said to me and I nodded smiling. "Yeahh but I don't have a favorite rapper but thank you." She nodded then held her hand out introducing herself. "I'm Jessica." I took her hand shaking it. "Sage, who's your favorite rapper?" I asked. "Missy Elliott." Jessica held up her arms spinning and I nodded. I was messing with it, she had on a blue cap with hoop earrings and a braided wig.

"Girl come on." Another woman walked up talking to Jessica. "Girl wait!" They started bickering back and forth as soon as I was about to step away her friend left then she looked at me. "I'm sorry about that." She apologized and I nodded. "You good." Please get out my face. "I was wondering if you were single and if you are I'd love to get to know you." She told me and I debated on what to tell her. I looked around the kitchen seeing Denise heading towards this way and I decided on my answer then.

For the plot.

"Yeah here put your number in my phone and I'll text you later." I told her smiling and she returned it. I dug my phone out these baggy ass jeans and gave it to her. After that was done she left and I put some more juice in my cup before returning to Shawn. "Damn nigga where did you go? It doesn't take that long to refill ya cup." Shawn told me frowning as we went out into the backyard where the game was. "Mind yo business." I told him. "Anyways ion know if y'all met or not but this is Jordan-"
