Quirkless Knife Fights

Start from the beginning

"Thanks for paying for my groceries, buddy." She gathered the dropped microwave meals and ramen cups, before flinging him over her shoulder and carrying him to the nearest police station to receive her payout for apprehending him.

She swiftly dodged and hits him with force at the wrist, making the rubber knife drop to the floor with a 'thunk'.

"...That's one way of doing it." She releases a breath she didn't know she was holding. He looks at her, disappointed with her ease of disarming him. What was with this guy? The class gives a quiet applause.

"Well, a real criminal isn't going to warn you." He reasoned.

"Sure. Can you pick that back up, and give me time to demonstrate this time?" He rolled his eyes before picking up the knife and holding it out as if he were going to stab her.

"As I just demonstrated, you can hit them in the wrist to disarm them," Checking that the class was watching, then hit him in the wrist again.

"Then kick them, or punch them." She slowly demonstrates.

"Or, grab or push their wrist upwards and away from you, and kick them." She kicked him with possibly too much force- but of course, Aizawa Shouta was not going to let that show. He nonchalantly rubbed his shoulder where she kicked.

"Of course, this isn't entirely useful until I've shown you how to kick and punch yet." She shoots Aizawa a look of annoyance. How couldn't she be annoyed? He had ruined her lesson plan after all.

"For now, take a knife and some chalk, and partner up to practice disarming and pushing a knife away from you. No kicking or punching yet." The class begin to take a knife of their own from the case, splitting off into partners and putting into practice what they had learned.

Y/N L/N knew one thing already. She held a lot of disdain for Aizawa Shouta. He had challenged her, undermined her, and attempted to embarrass her all in one day. And it wasn't even lunchtime yet. First impressions meant everything- just not to Aizawa.

"Not bad." He remarked. She scoffed in response. Not bad? Of course it wasn't bad. She was a seasoned pro-hero, for god's sakes!

Was. Was a pro-hero.

"So? Good enough for you? Or are you going to spout some bullshit about how quirks are the most important thing for a pro-hero?" Surprisingly, he doesn't respond with sarcasm, or something hurtful, instead, he says something that surprises her.

"I agree. That hand-to-hand combat is important." He said without an ounce of malice in his voice. Her mouth hung ever-so-slightly agape.

"Just matters if you're actually good enough at it. Good enough to save someone, or protect a student." And there it was. She was stupid for thinking for even a second that the man in front of her could ever say something genuine.

"Class." He calls out. They stopped what they were doing, listening on.

"Myself and Miss L/N are going to give you another demonstration." She watches on in surprise, and mostly annoyance. He picked a knife back up, wiping it with blue chalk.

"This time, so you can see what a real knife fight looks like." He handed her the knife. Apprehensively, she takes it.

"What's the point of this? I'm teaching them how to disarm an attacker. Not how to stab people." She said with venom in her voice.

"They should see just how fast, and violent, a knife fight is, no? They need to be able to know just how fast these things happen." He picked up his own knife, rubbing it with red chalk. Whilst walking away to create some distance between the two, he walks past her.
