I saw his face fall as I declared.

He looked as if he had heard of someone's death. He appeared to be in shock.

My mother was also quiet shocked when I accepted. I had always rejected all proposals, since I did not wish to leave my parents. But well, they also deserve a chance to perform kanyadaan, one of the highest forms of daan any parent can perform according to the scriptures.

Seeing Kabir's shocked face did hurt a little. I was yet to decide whether it was my love for him that made me feel this way or just the empath inside me, who couldn't see anyone sad.

He deserved it though. He can't make up for two years in just twenty minutes.

The hostess announced the boarding for my flight.

"Goodbye Kabir."

I pushed the empath aside, stood up and left to board the plane.

I looked back from the queue, and he was still sitting there, staring at me. Her eyes shined under the light, or were those tears?

Not being able to see him like that, I diverted my gaze and focused on the flight.

I sat there as I watched her leave.

Tears brimmed in my eyes.

I was crying.

It was shocking, even to me.

She left, just like I had left her two years ago. At least she said goodbye, unlike me.

I chuckled. Mai hi chutiya hoon . She was really an angel, for putting up with me.

Even five minutes of her silence drives me crazy. Imagine how two years of my silence must've felt for her.

My phone rang. It was Advik.

"Kabir, where are you?"

"Advik" I sniffled, " I messed up, I messed up real bad this time. "

"What happened ? Kabir ? Kabir, where are you right now ? What do you mean messed up ? " This time it was Vipin on the phone. I forgot he was visiting today.
