The quietest noise had him on high alert. It sounded like faint footsteps. Frowning, Wolffe halted his movements. His hand came to rest on the wall beside the shield as he edged closer to it. Lowering his gaze to the floor he deduced that it was indeed footsteps echoing off the walls. But not the footsteps of metal droids, the footsteps of a sentient being.

Suddenly the person was rounding the corner and coming face to face with a shocked Wolffe, who swiftly stepped back from the shield. He frowned up at the Captain who now stood in front of him, pale as ever. Both men just stared at each other in silence. Neither of them were exactly their biggest fans, even before this incident.

As soon as everyone on the bridge had either surrendered per Wolffe's command, or been shot dead before that command was given, Captain Oriya had stepped his way through the droids watching the door. Wolffe, at the time, had thought he was there to rescue them. But as he watched Oriya march over to certain consoles tapping away at the controls as if everything was normal. He had then turned to Wolffe and asked where the information they had collected from Ord Mantell was.

That's when it clicked in Wolffe's head. He wasn't pale because he was sick or tired like Y/n had been thinking. He was pale because he was scared he'd get caught funnelling information to the enemy. Wolffe had spat some choice words at the Captain then before he and his men were taken off to be temporarily imprisoned.

This was all his fault, Oriya's that is. Wolffe was much like his General in the sense that he lay some blame on himself for not seeing the man's betrayal sooner but this current situation was on Oriya's shoulders. The blood that had been spilled on the bridge floor was on his hands, and if any blood had been spilled from his General that would be his fault too.

"I didn't think they'd torture her." Captain Oriya faintly spoke up, glancing over his shoulder nervously as if he was double checking no droid was watching his movements.

Wolffe couldn't help the scoff that left his lungs, his eyes rolling in exasperation. He couldn't possibly believe that the man in front of him didn't think about the consequences of his actions before he committed them.

"What did you think they'd do to her?" He asked, his hands finding purchase on his hips as he scrutinised the man.

"Grievous assured me no harm would come to her." Oriya raised his voice, taking that last step closer to the shield.

"And you believed him? Smart." Wolffe rolled his eyes again, softly shaking his head.

"If you tell me what she did with the information I can make him stop." Oriya offered, making Wolffe's eyes narrow.

"He wouldn't stop." Wolffe grumbled lowly. Finally he sat down on the hard, uncomfortable seat that was attached to the wall. Leaning forward an inch he rested his forearms on his legs sighing heavily.

"That's all he seems to care about." Oriya told him sternly. "He keeps asking the same questions on if she's seen it, where she hid it and if she sent it to anyone else."

Wolffe remained silent, not wanting to humour the man that had thrown away everything to betray their trust. The slight bubble of relief didn't last very long when he found out that it wasn't one of his men that was the cause of the leak. Instead it was a man Y/n had chosen herself to command her cruiser. Despite his low rank she had taken a shine to the man and insisted that he take the job. That thought had burrowed its way through Wolffe's head as he'd been pacing. She had seen the promise in him and he'd stabbed her in the back.
