It was the same school he had graduated from. It was a simple English-medium school, and while his family could easily afford to send him to an elite school, they chose this to mingle with the middle-class. His father wanted to extend his services directly to the working class, and this was the best way to understand their mindset.

He turned to the last page, where he found a photo attached of her. Short black hair that reach her shoulders, almond eyes and an oval face with a fair complexion - It was indeed her.

It was the same girl he had fallen in love with in school.

And now, Kabir was planning on marrying her.

He learnt of the marriage as Kabir himself had sent an invitation to him too, most probably to rub it in his face the difference in their situation.

One who has found everything and is leading a happy life.

And another who still burns in rage, thirsty for revenge.

Jay smirked, "Now I have another reason to snatch her away from you."

He took out another picture from the drawer. It was a picture of a bracelet. Urvashi had written in one of her letters that Kabir has been seen, many times, staring at the bracelet with a longing expression, sometimes even tearing up, before he puts the bracelet back into his pocket.

Yes. He always keeps that bracelet on him, either wearing it or keeping it in his pocket to avoid unwanted attention to it.

Jay called for Pran.

Showing him the picture, he ordered, "I want an exact replica of this bracelet made."

"A bracelet, sir?"

"Yes." Jay stood up from his chair, "And I want it done by the end of the week."

On the other hand, Ipshita was in her room after a whole day of shopping.

Shopping for her wedding.

She had already gotten a good one month leave from work for the wedding, and also because the team manager Mrs. Shuchi was impressed by her idea, which made the robobird fly.

She was arranging all the item she had bought in her closet, when her mother came in.

"Ishu beta."

Ipshita moved the items and made space on her bed for her mother to sit.

"Beta, run away."

Ipshita's hands, that were folding her new clothes, froze. She faced her mother, "What?"

"Run away. Your father and I don't want you to get stuck in an unwanted marriage. We both know how much he had hurt you. We just don't want to see you hurt again."

She sat beside her mother, "You also saw na how he reacted to my rejection? If I run away, he might target you guys again. I can't let that happen."

"Don't worry about us beta. We have already lived long enough. We have seen you grow up and stand on your feet, shouldering all the responsibilities of an adult. I will have no regrets even if I -"

"Mumma!" Ipshita interrupted, "Aisa na bolo. As long as I am here, kuch nhi hoga aap dono ko. I won't let that happen."

She looked down, "And mumma..." she hesitated.

"Bolo." Her mother encouraged her.

She shook her head, "...I'll just miss you guys, a lot. "

She laid down, her head on her mother's lap as her mother stroked her hair.

She couldn't tell her the truth.

She couldn't say that somewhere in her heart, she was a little happy that it was him she was marrying.

Maybe it's because she always dreamt of this moment, and even after all the mishaps, her heart couldn't help but jump at the idea of a dream coming true.

That didn't mean she had forgiven him.

No.

He'll have to earn her forgiveness, he'll have to beg for it.

She consoled herself with this idea, but she still felt pathetic for loving a man who left her for so long, she felt pathetic for loving a man who had threatened her parents.

Her mind knew it was wrong, what Kabir did was wrong.

But her heart still yearned for him.

And she struggled with choosing a side –

Her heart or her mind ?
