Isla
[Hotel La Vida]
"Hello, Lucas," I said, my voice laced with anger.
"Calm your wits, honey. I'm asking you out on our last date."
I laughed. "Sure. I already hate you so much. No use in the last date."
"We'll see, sweetheart."
As soon as I arrived at the spot for our date, I spotted two familiar figures: Lucas at the table I was heading to and Xavier dangerously close by, clearly occupied with some work stuff.
"Ebony, your arrival has raised my spirits," Lucas said, his tone sickeningly sweet.
I rolled my eyes. What is wrong with this guy? A couple of days ago, he was with another girl. Whatever his plans are today will be ruined. By whom? Me. He placed his hand above mine.
"I know this is our last date, and on all these dates, you've made me feel like the luckiest man alive. I really hoped for a closer relationship."
I pulled my hand from under his. "Do you also tell the same words to Anna Charm?" I questioned.
He feigned ignorance. "Who is she?"
"Maybe if you stop by my favorite gym, Asola Gym, you'll find out," I said, smirking.
"You don't have to feel hurt... After all, I'm just business."
I got up to leave, but he grabbed my hand. "You are not leaving, Ebony. Do you know how much I gave up for you?"
I pulled my arm away. "Do I look like I care?"
All the commotion got everyone's attention, including Xavier's. He immediately got up and excused himself. He walked towards me and grabbed my arm.
"Why are you here?" Xavier asked me.
I smiled at him. "Just tying loose ends. Nothing for you to worry about."
Lucas snapped, "Aren't you engaged to that long brunette?"
Xavier smirked at him. "And aren't you the guy who had his hands wrapped around that lady?"
I was smiling inside. Xavier played him bad. Burn, Lucas. Burn. My enemy just burned you. Maybe he's not an enemy after all. As I was celebrating the short victory, Xavier grabbed my hand and dragged me to the emergency staircase, pinning me to the door.
"I hate it, Isla," Xavier said, stepping closer. "I hate it when you hang around with other guys."
I scoffed. "You. Don't. Control. Me."
He smirked. "You are mine. Whether you like it or not." He leaned forward, resting his head on my neck, sending tingles everywhere. I could feel him smile as my body tensed up. "Don't deny your feelings and just accept the fact you are mine."
My heart wanted to tell him that I was his, but my mind was against it. What the heck do I do? "Xavier, I... I don't know. Why don't we start as friends? I just have this thing against men like you."
"Men like me?"
"Sexists?"
He nodded. "I see. Alright, then. Friends. But you can't be friends with other guys."
"Too bad. Jack's my one and only bestie who stayed by my side. Till now, I don't understand why. Can't break our old friendship now, can we?"
He smirked. "Jack's like a brother to you. He's alright. But others are a no-no."
I gulped as he moved to my mouth and pecked my lips. "No other friend of yours can do this to you. Understand?"
I nodded. "Understand?"
"Y...yes." What the heck was wrong with me? Why am I weak under his touch? Snap out of this, Isla. Quickly snapping out of this daze, I pushed him away. "Please, don't make me shoulder throw you, Xavier."
He laughed. "Please don't make me throw you over my shoulder, cutie."
I blushed like a beetroot.
