Chapter 12- Billy

“Found it! 6522 Cherry Oak Drive.” he exclaimed.

“That's close.” Nancy said.

“El! El. we found it! Get out of there!” Mike proclaimed.

A feeling suddenly took over my body. It caused my eyes to flash black but also caused them to roll back in my head. I tried to open them but it took awhile. When I finally could, I was sitting in the room I was currently in only… there was no one. Except El.

“El.” I mumbled as I stood up and went to her side, “Where are we?”

“I dont know.” she answered, “Mike?”

“Will?” I called out, no answer.

“Mike?” El called out as she realized we were the only ones in the room.

“Will?!” I cried out with tears in my eyes, completely unaware of my empty surroundings.

El and I cried and cried for our boys’ names but everytime got no responses. Until we got one.

“They can't hear you.” the voice said before its presence came into the room, it was Billy. El and I let out gasps of fear as we took a step back.

“You shouldn't have looked for me.” he growled, “Because now I see you. Now we can all see you.” he looked at us as we backed away with tears ready to fall.

“You two… let us in.” he said, “And now… you are going to have to let us stay.”

We both backed away, tears bubbling in our eyes as others fell. Our bodies trembled as we stepped back.

“Don't you see?” he asked, “All this time, we’ve been building it. We’ve been building it… for you both. All that work… all that pain… all of it… for you.”

We were backed against a table together, there was nowhere for either of us to run to. We were trapped, sobbing and helpless.

“And now it's time.” he grunted, “Time to end it. And we are going to end both of you. And when you are gone, we’re going to end your friends.”

“No!” we screamed in sobs.

“And we are going to end… everyone.” he said as a tear fell from his eye.

“Get away!” We both screamed and used our powers to throw him farther than ever.

The both of us screamed and sobbed. El managed to pull off her blindfold and I guess Will shook me out of it because the next thing I knew I was screaming and crying with a bloody nose with everyone again. 

“Y/N! It's okay. I've got you. Breathe.” Will comforted me as he held me in his arms.

It took a few minutes but El and I calmed down and got cleaned up. Will helped me clean the blood from my nose. The two of us moved to the couch and sat side by side with Will beside me, and Max beside her.

“He said he was building something.” El explained, “That was all for us.”

“He’s strong.” I added, “He managed to pull me in without me even being in the void.”

“Building something… is he talking about the flayed?” Max asked.

“He must be.” Nancy nodded.

“So, he’s building an army just like we thought.” Lucas spoke.

“Yeah, but he’s not building this army to spread.” Mike said.

“He's building it to stop Y/N and Eleven.” Will nodded.

“Last year, El closed the gate on him and Y/N managed to get him out of the people he inhabited. I have a feeling that really pissed him off.” Mike explained.

“Like royally.” Lucas said.

“And the mind flayer now knows that they're the only thing that can stop him.” Mike continued, “But if they're out of the way.”

“Game over.” Lucas finished.

“He also said, he was gonna kill all of you.” I added which made Will look at me in fright and squeeze my hand. 

“Yeah, well, that's nice.” Max rejected

Nancy’s eyes trailed forward as she approached the window ahead, obviously noticing something abnormal.

“Do you guys hear that?” she asked.

“It's just the fireworks.” Jonathan said.

“Billy…” she began, “When he told you this, it was here, in this room?” she questioned.

Both of us nodded a yes as we heard distant thudding noises which hadn't been heard before. I looked at Will as I felt it. The feeling. My eye flashed black which made JOnathan look at me with wide, fearful eyes.

“He knows we’re here.” I whimpered.

We all scrambled up from our seats out the front doors to see none other than the mind flayer moving towards us at a rapid pace, under the fireworks. It smashed down trees as it stomped its way towards us. All of us quickly ran inside. The younger group of us began to barricade the house from the inside while the older ones gathered weapons from the garage outside.

Will, Lucas and I moved shelves over a nearby window as Jonathan and Nancy came back inside. In the end, we were all standing together, in a crowded circle in the middle of the room. Will and I’s hands were intertwined and I was squeezing his hand harder than I ever had before.

“It's close.” Will spoke.

The trees outside shook, and dust fell from the rafters and the lights flickered. It was close. Too close. Mugs fell off their hooks on the walls and smashed from the impact. Then all of a sudden… It went quiet.

‘Where’d it go?” Max pondered.

Before I could blink, a tentacle shot its way into the room through the wall causing all of us to jump away. It shot straight at me and El who were back in front of our friends to protect them. Tears filled my eyes and I pushed Will away. Jonathan quickly intercepted and swung an ax right into it. After seconds of hacking away at it, it flung Jonatahn into the wall, causing him to drop his ax and become un-armed.

The tentacle came towards him as Nancy put a bullet in it. I figured it was a great time to use my powers. I created a massive fireball and chucked it right at the arm which made it flinch back and screech. It did that, then went straight at me. I immediately teleported to the other side of the room, while El held it back before ripping it to shreds.

“Holy shit.” Max gasped as it retreated out the wall again before shooting back inside.

With El in the middle of the room, she caught the two tentacles that came at her at either side. I ducked lower and caught another set that went below the higher ones. At the same time, El and I ripped them apart with one final scream. 

Suddenly, from the roof, one big tentacle came right at the both of us. I screamed as I noticed it. It tried to grab me by my torso which caused huge scratches to form across my stomach as I was lifted up. Another tentacle shot in and grabbed ahold of El’s ankle. Both of us were suspended before half of our friends grabbed ahold of El and half of them grabbed ahold of my arms. 

The thing yanked and yanked as EL and I cried out in screams of pain. Lucas had grabbed ahold of the ax and began chopping at El’s. Once she had fallen from her grasp, Lucas chopped at me. Now everyone was pulling at mine. I felt as if all hope was lost before I finally felt myself fall from its grasp. Nancy had reloaded and managed to shoot it right in the mouth, making it cower back and drop us. 

Blood from my stomach, bled onto whoever I was on top of. I looked down to see who was holding me and it was none other than Will. He was hugging me and crying. I managed to stand up with El and finish it off by El using her telekinesis and me throwing a huge fireball into its gaping mouth causing it to screech in pain as El finally ripped it apart. 

As I fell back, I was caught by Jonathan and carried outside to the car. Everyone was screaming in pain and urgency. El was being by Mike and Max and so was I. Everyone was screaming to go faster as I was helped into the back end of the car with Will.
