7. Another Person We Can Trust

Start from the beginning

"I scared them? Who is them?" She questioned.

"Toothless, Sapphire, this is Astrid. Astrid this is Toothless and Sapphire." Hiccup introduced.

The dragon both growled and Astrid then ran off. "Duh, duh, duh, we're dead." Hiccup said.

Both dragons lazily walked away. "Woah, woah, woah, where do you two think you're going?" I questioned.

We watched as Astrid sprinted through the woods before I swoopt down and Sapphire picked her up with her claws.

"Oh, great Odin's ghost! This is it!" She yelled before screaming again.

Sapphire dropped her onto a tree before landing on it herself, Hiccup and Toothless landed on a tree next to us.

"Talulahh! Get me down from here!" She demanded.

"Not unless you give us a chance to explain." I told her.

"I am not listening to anything you have to say!" She yelled. That hurt me a little.

"Then I won't speak, just let me show you." I said, offering her my hand.

She climbed onto Sapphire cautiously , "Now get me down." She said forcefully.

"Sapphire. Down. Gently." I told her.

She looked at Toothless and they had a silent conversation before they both spread their wings and darted up to the sky.

Astrid screamed and quickly latched onto my waist. "Toothless! Sapphire! Bad dragons. What is wrong with you?" Hiccup yelled.

"Ha, ha, ha. They're not usually like this." I explained. Sapphire and Toothless both dove down. Sapphire dipped in and out of the water while Toothless stayed above it.

"Sapphire, what are you doing? We need her to like us." Hiccup told my dragon.

They soared back up and started to spin, Astrid still screaming. "And now they're spinning." I deadpanned.

"Thank you for nothing, you useless reptiles." Hiccup said.

"Okay! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, just get me off of this thing." Astrid said, still holding onto me tightly. Sapphire and Toothless seemed to register he apology and slowed down.

It was really peaceful and Astrid finally decided to open her eyes. We went above the clouds to see the beautiful night sky.

Astrid held her hand up and touched the clouds, one hand still placed firmly on my waist. I smiled at the sight.

She removed her other hand from my body, both of her arms now high in the air.

She put both her hands back to their original position and looked around.

Then clouds below us moved away, revealing berk. It looked amazing. Astrid then hugged me tightly, resting her head on my shoulder, "Alright, I admit it, this is pretty cool," She said. "It's amazing."

What I didn't see was when Hiccup looked over at us and smirked.

She looked down at the dragons, "They're amazing." She then leaned down and patted Sapphire's head.

"What now?" Astrid asked as she turned to Hiccup. He let put a sigh, "Hiccup, your final exams is tomorrow. You know your gonna have to kill a-"She cut herself off, looking down at Sapphire.

"Don't remind me. "Hiccup said.

As they had they're conversation I noticed Sapphire acting strange. I looked over at Toothless and he was doing the same," Sapphire, girl, what's  the matter? "I asked softly.

Both the dragons then dove down sideways, "Woah, Toothless, what's happening?" Hiccup questioned.

We soar through the clouds before a Monstrous Nightmare appeared next to us, "Get down." I warned as I ducked.

Astrid pressed herself onto my back, looking around frantically. More dragons came out of the clouds around us, all carrying dead animals.

"What's going on?" Astrid asked me.

"I don't know." I answered truthfully.

"Toothless, Sapphire, you gotta get u out of here, guys." Hiccup told the two trustworthy dragons.

"It looks like they're hauling in their kill." I said.

"Uh, what does that make us?" Astrid questioned, hugging me tighter, which I didn't think was possible.

The dragons soared between sea stacks until we reached a volcano. Weird.

We entered through a hole in the side of the mountain. We came upon a giant,  room-like opening with fog at where the floor would be.

The fog was glowing red from what I guessed was the lava. "What our dad wouldn't give to find this." Hiccup said darkly.

We landed on a ledge on the side of the wall and watched the other dragons dropped their kill into the fog.

"It's satisfying to know that all of our food had been dumped down a hole." I said sarcastically.

"They're not eating any of it." Astrid observed.

A young Gronkle flew near the hole, only dumping a singular fish down it.

Unexpectedly, a very, very large dragon popped it's head up out of the most, eating the Gronkle in one bite.

The three of us gasped in unison. "What is that?" Astrid asked.

The mystery dragon started sniffing around, "Alright guys, we gotta get out of here." Hiccup said. The dragon then looked straight at us. "Now."

We flew off before the dragon could get a hold on us. We were all shaken up, though.

All of the dragons started flying up and put of the volcano. The queen dragon stood up and, once again tried to snap it's jaws around us, only getting a Zippleback instead.

We landed back in the cove. "It totally makes sense, it like a beehive. They're the workers and that's their queen." Astrid said as I helped her off of Sapphire.

"Let's find your dad! "She said, running off.

"No, no. "Hiccup stopped her. "Not yet, they'll kill Toothless and Sapphire."

I joined the conversation," Astrid, we have to think this through."

"Talulahh, Hiccup, we just discovered the dragons nest. The thing we've been after since Vikings first sailed here. And you want to keep it a  secret? To protect your pet dragons? Are you serious?" Astrid asked.

"Yes. " Hiccup and I both said.

I turned my head away, I didn't want to look at her." okay, "Astrid said, I snapped my head in her direction, surprised." what do we do? "

"Just give us until tomorrow, we'll figure something out. " I told her.

"Okay, " She said before punching me." that's for kidnapping me. "

Hiccup walked away with Toothless, "Okay I deserved that-" I got cut off by Astrid's lips on mine.

She quickly pulled back, leaving me dazed. "That's for... everything else." Astrid explained before walking off.

I smiled as I watched her. Sapphire put her head next to my face then gurgled in amusement. "Oh, leave me alone. Go back to your cave." I said, pushing her face away.
