Though distance keeps our worlds apart, you'll always have my hidden heart.
One day, I hope you'll come to see,
The love that's always meant to be.

My lips curved up on its own.

He wrote me this note before we even started dating.

That person I once adored is nowhere close to the person he is now.

The blue eyes that once sparkled up my days are now exuding dark storms.

Lyra will forever be the symbol of me and the man who gave me a reason to smile.

I carefully folded the note and kept it safely in my bag, and went out before Dante could come in again.

"I was starting to think you stood up on us." Dante sighed, making the others laugh.

"I wish." I replied with a hint of sarcasm.

Later, we went to an Italian restaurant and ate to our fullest. Dante couldn't stop bragging about the Italian cuisine.

Him and Jenna even got into a banter. While Dante argued that Italian was the
best, Jenna nearly sent him into a cardiac arrebreakingeakimg the spaghetti in half.

We returned back shortly after our lunch. We had walked back to the H.Q. since the restaurant was quite close. On my way back, I called Lyra through Julia, like I used to every day.

My baby is a strong girl. She had shown great signs of recovery, and she might be discharged today.

Today marks two months since I've returned to New York.

I returned back to work and meetings. Soon, the seconds turned into hours, and the clock striked 6.

I got up as soon as the day was done. During the past week, I could tell that my daughter was not so pleasant about seeing the four walls every day. Every night, she used to tell me that she missed the glass window back in our apartment and the city lights. She got so bored that I had to take her on a full trip inside the hospital, and we always stopped at the vending machine.

Mason called me earlier to inform that Richard and him were already there.

Richard and Julia became so close to Lyra that she started calling them grandpa and grandma. They already spoiled her with a lot of toys and dresses.

I got out as fast as I could, but someone knocked into me.

I closed my eyes in frustration.

"Sorry, I didn't watch where I was going." Said the voice which I immediately recognised as Wes.

"It's alright. Where are you off to, in such a hurry." I couldn't help but ask. He was already breaking out a sweat, and it was way past the office hours.

"Oh, boss man's here. He is attending some charity programme and I had to go in to check on everything......Sel, can I ask something?" He hesitantly asked me.

"Yeah." My Uber wasn't here anyway, so I had time to answer whatever he was going to ask.

"Mr. Ashford, and you aren't together anymore? I'm sorry if you don't wanna—"
