Sunchul stumbled, barely catching himself before he fell. His eyes widened in disbelief as he touched his jaw, feeling the sharp sting of Hanwool's punch.
"H-Hanwool-" he started, but the look in Hanwool's eyes made him shut his mouth immediately.
Hanwool rolled his shoulders, cracking his neck as he took a slow step forward, his presence alone suffocating. "I don't remember giving you permission to lay a finger on her," he said, his voice eerily calm.
Sunchul swallowed hard, trying to mask his nervousness. "I-I was just-"
Hanwool didn't wait for an excuse. His foot connected with Sunchul's ribs in a brutal kick, sending him sprawling onto the ground. The other guys in the group stiffened, some looking away, others waiting to see if Hanwool would continue.
Rin pushed herself up, her hands stinging from the rough concrete. She stared at Hanwool, her chest tightening. "Stop it," she said firmly.
Hanwool glanced at her, his expression unreadable. "Why?"
"You've made your point," she said, her voice steady despite the tension in her body.
Hanwool studied her for a moment before exhaling sharply, as if deciding it wasn't worth it. He shoved his hands in his pockets, stepping away from Sunchul, who groaned in pain on the ground.
"Fine," Hanwool muttered, turning his attention back to Rin. His eyes flickered to her back where she had been kicked, then back to her face. "But don't go stepping into things you can't handle, Rin."
She clenched her fists. "And what about you?"
Hanwool raised an eyebrow. "What about me?"
She shook her head, frustration mixing with the unease in her chest. "Nothing," she muttered, looking away.
Meanwhile, Geon-yeop, still hidden behind the wall, let out a slow breath, his fists shaking at his sides. He had been seconds away from jumping in, but now... he wasn't sure what to think.
He had always known Hanwool was dangerous. But seeing this side of him-possessive, ruthless, almost territorial-made something inside Geon-yeop burn.
And he hated it.
Rin turned away from Hanwool, her thoughts tangled, her heart unsteady. She wanted to believe that somewhere in him was the boy who had playfully teased her, but after today...
She wasn't sure who the real Hanwool was anymore.
The rooftop remained tense, the air thick with something unspoken. Rin rubbed her arms, the sting of Sunchul's kick still lingering. Hanwool stood a few steps away, his sharp eyes watching her with an intensity she couldn't quite decipher.
