MIRRORED MIND ; ⠀㉋⠀恩◉

Hanwool's fingers tightened around the armrest of his chair, his mind going blank for a split second.

"Kim Nara... is Rin Nakahara?"

His chest rose and fell steadily, but inside, something twisted-something he hadn't felt in years. He leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees as he stared at Sunchul, his usual smirk wiped clean off his face.

"You're sure?" His voice was dangerously quiet.

Sunchul swallowed, nodding quickly. "We checked everything. Her family moved when she was little, changed their name. But it's her, Hanwool. The same girl from your past."

Hanwool exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. A bitter chuckle escaped his lips.

"All this time..." he muttered under his breath. The pieces started fitting together-the familiarity in her eyes, the way she carried herself, the way she stood her ground against him without fear. It all made sense now.

Sunchul hesitated before speaking again. "What do you want to do?"

Hanwool didn't answer immediately. Instead, he leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping against the armrest. His heart was pounding, but not from anger.

"Nara... Rin..."

His smirk slowly returned, but this time, there was something darker in his eyes.

"...I want to see how much she remembers."

"Since this accident.."

Rin burst through the front door, her breath uneven from running the entire way home. She barely registered the grand interior of the house as she trudged up the stairs, swinging open her bedroom door before collapsing onto her bed. Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, each one pressing down on her chest like a weight she couldn't shake off.

"They didn't even bother to come see me at the hospital."

She let out a dry scoff, but the bitterness in her voice barely masked the sting of disappointment settling deep in her gut. Why am I even surprised?

A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.

"Mom and Dad are calling you for dinner, Rin."

She turned her head to see her older brother, Daichi, standing in the doorway, pushing his glasses back onto the bridge of his nose. He didn't step inside, didn't ask how she was-just relayed the message like he was expected to.

Rin slowly sat up, wincing as a dull ache throbbed in her skull. "Tch... That asshole didn't missed me..," she muttered under her breath, referring to Hyun-woo.
