MIRRORED MIND ; ⠀㉋⠀恩◉
When Rin woke up, everything hurt.
Her head throbbed, a dull, pounding ache radiating from the spot where Hyun-woo's bat had struck her. She groaned, blinking against the harsh white light above her. The sterile scent of antiseptic filled her nose, making her stomach churn.
"Rin?"
She turned her head slightly, wincing at the pain, and found Ga-min sitting beside her hospital bed. His face was filled with relief, but his brows were furrowed in concern. His usual cute demeanor was nowhere to be seen.
"You're awake," he exhaled, as if he had been holding his breath for hours.
She tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through her skull, making her hiss in discomfort.
"Yah, don't move too much," Ga-min scolded, reaching out instinctively to steady her. "You took a bad hit, dummy."
She blinked at him, her voice hoarse. "What... happened?"
Ga-min hesitated, his lips pressing into a thin line. "Hyun-woo and his guys... We got there in time, but you and Miss Lee were already hurt pretty bad." He sighed, rubbing his temples. "Geon-yeop went insane after you collapsed. He took on all of them, but then his old wound reopened, he was even about to kill Hyun-woo , hopefully i stopped and-"
Rin's heart stopped. "What?"
"His stab wound," Ga-min muttered. "The one he never let heal properly. He tore it open while fighting. He lost a lot of blood, Rin."
She felt her stomach drop.
"He's okay, right?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ga-min hesitated, then sighed. "He's stable... but he needed surgery. They're keeping him under observation for now."
Rin squeezed her eyes shut, guilt crashing over her like a wave. This was her fault. If she hadn't interfered-if she had just listened-Geon-yeop wouldn't have pushed himself to that point.
"Stop," Ga-min said suddenly, as if reading her thoughts.
She looked at him, surprised.
"I know what you're thinking. And it's not your fault," he said firmly. "None of this is your fault."
Rin swallowed hard. "But if I hadn't-"
"Rin." Ga-min leaned forward, his voice softer now. "You shouldn't act like everything is on you, like you have to take on the world alone. But you're not alone. We're here, okay?"
