Hanwool lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, his body stiff and unmoving. The walls of his room felt suffocating, the air thick with silence.
His mind kept replaying the scene-Rin, standing in the rain, eyes wide with betrayal, her small frame trembling. The way she crumbled before his eyes, how she didn't even try to fight back.
He had destroyed her.
He had done the one thing he swore he never would.
His hands curled into fists as he gritted his teeth, the pain in his chest unbearable. His father had won. He had taken away the only person who ever made Hanwool feel alive.
She's safe now, he tried to convince himself. She'll move on. She'll forget about me.
But the thought alone made him feel sick.
A sharp knock on his door snapped him out of his thoughts.
"Hanwool, come eat," Sohye's voice called softly.
He didn't answer. He couldn't.
Because if he opened his mouth now, he wasn't sure if a reply would come out-or a broken sob.

Rin's POV
The world around her was spinning.
Her legs moved on their own, her footsteps unsteady as she walked aimlessly through the empty streets. The rain had finally stopped, but she was still drenched, cold seeping into her bones.
She couldn't feel anything.
Or maybe she felt too much.
Her heart ached, her limbs felt heavy, and her head pounded from exhaustion. She wiped at her blurry eyes, but the tears kept coming, refusing to stop.
Why did it hurt so much?
Why did he have to do this?
She felt dizzy, her vision swimming as she reached a busy intersection. The sound of passing cars, distant honks, and murmuring voices barely registered in her mind.
She couldn't think.
She couldn't breathe.
She took a step forward.
Blinding headlights.
A loud horn.
Tires screeching.
And then-impact.
Pain.
A sharp, searing pain shot through her body as her world tilted. She felt herself being lifted off the ground, weightless for a split second before crashing down.
The pavement was cold. The air smelled like burning rubber and asphalt.
She tried to move, but her body wouldn't listen.
Her ears rang, distant voices calling out, but they felt so far away.
The only thing she could think about was him.
Hanwool...
Darkness swallowed her whole.
Hanwool's breath was ragged as he sprinted through the rain-soaked streets, his heart pounding so violently it hurt. He didn't care anymore. He didn't care about the threats, about his father, about the consequences.
He just needed to see her. Even from a distance. Just one more time.
But as he neared the place where he had left her, his body froze.
