"So this is it..." Muttered the girl, watching the building ahead of her. "I'm finally studying at UA Academy..." Y/N huffed, glaring at the building. Her small frame was towered over by the building that trained the heroes of the future. If it were up to her, she'd destroy the entire building, resenting its message.

Actually, it was up to her technically. But what wasn't, was actually attending. Her mother, a famous pro hero, decided to split her and her brother up. She said it was "to protect him" while the girl's quirk was so intense that it required her to attend the academy as soon as she was able. So that she could control it, her mother insisted.

Y/N Shimura. Her quirk; break. She can break anything she touches, but the bigger or more intense the item she breaks is, the more air is taken out of her lungs. The ability left her with mild asthma, which would never be a problem once her quirk was discovered and her mother quickly paid good money to make her gloves that would prevent her quirk from destroying anything until she was old enough to enter UA Academy and learn how to fully control it, and with it, become a hero.

The only problem with that? Y/N didn't want any of this, maybe when she was younger, when her family was together and stable, she hoped to be a hero. Now? With her father dead, her brother in foster care and her being forced into a school to control her cursed quirk? No way. She had no interest in doing anything even slightly heroic. In fact, she could already tell that she'd hate everyone that was in this building, even more so the dumb kids in her year. Frustratingly enough, even with her desperation to avoid passing the exam, she did so anyway. They never let her wear her gloves, so her quirk reigned free, and she passed somehow.

With a sigh, she stepped forward, accepting her temporary fate as she wandered reluctantly through the gates, wringing her wrists as she did so. Laughter warned her half a second before she got knocked over, gloved hands hitting the floor as she fell from impact.

"Oh, sorry about that!" Laughed one of the two boys, stumbling his way forward.

"Watch where you're going next time." Hissed the h/c hair coloured girl, folding her arms as she stood up. Her gloved hands protected the ground from being obliterated as she attempted to stand up, pausing in mild surprise as a hand reached out to her. Curious, she looked up to the person offering help, her eyes lingering for a moment as she noticed the shining golden blonde hair and blue eyes that sparkled with confidence and ferocity, while also being gentle and awkward. It was an odd combination, a window into a personality she knew to be quite unique.

"Good tip! Watching where I'm going will definitely save me from many injuries I will receive from future villains!" His deep voice reeked of optimism, and what would normally be seen as a sarcastic comment, actually seemed like genuine appreciation. Y/N faltered for a moment, somehow losing her breath as she noticed the bright smile the boy held, it felt somewhat familiar...

Without taking the help, y/n stood to her feet. Rolling her eyes with a frown as she finally broke eye contact with the boy before her. An awkward laugh followed from the boy as he moved his offered hand to the back of his neck, embarrassed. "Sorry again."

The girl looked back to the male, noticing his friend had left. Her heart skipped a beat as they locked eyes, making her chest ache before anger overtook her. Without saying another word she walked off, leaving the mysterious blonde boy awkwardly on his own. He watched in surprise and intrigue as the angry fourteen year old disappeared into the giant building.

Inside the building sucked just as much as the outside, the wish of destroying it effectively distracting y/n from the rage she had at herself from faltering at her first damned social interaction in the premises. She had to get to her first class, where she'd be given her timetable and some other useless things she'd completely forget about by the end of the day.
