"That's because yesterday he told me to arrange them by length! The day before I was by pointiness! And the day before that, it was by name!" He threw his hands up. "Did you know he gave each weapon its own nickname?"
"Ummm..." I said, not knowing how to handle the situation.
"Well, I have to admit, that's really weird. Uh, all right, we'll go talk to him." Hiccup said.
"I mean, seriously. Who names their mace 'Daisy'?" Sven exclaimed.
As Hiccup and I followed after our father I spoke first, "That's why your gonna become chief, not me."
"What do you mean?" He asked, turning his head to look at me.
"You handled that so well back there, you're definitely fit to be a chief." I explained truthfully.
"Oh, um, thanks, but we should talk about this later." He said sheepishly.
We found our father at one of the fields with Gothi, "For Thor's sake, you plow like an old woman." He yelled at her.
"Well, that's ironic." I muttered as Chip accidently set a small fire. Thankfully, Saph stomped on it to put it out.
"Agh!" He grumbled as he took the plow from her, "Hag. This is how you plow!"
He started to plow, "Oh, it's so simple! You can't even..."
Hiccup looked at Toothless before getting yanked away by Gothi. I covered my mouth with my hand to muffle my laughing.
"Ow, ow, ow! Ah!" the healer finally let go. "Uh, Gothi! You know, personally, I don't know what he's talking about. I-I love your plowing."
She narrowed her eyes at Hiccup as he continued to stutter, "You are by far my favorite plower in all of Berk. That's-that's some good plowing, yeah."
Gothi started to write in the dirt aggressively." Uh, yes, I-I agree. He's totally out of control. " she made an angry jab at the ground, signifying she was done scribbling." Watch the language. He's still my father. We'll talk to him, I promise. "
With that, Hiccup grabbed my hand and ran off, the dragons following close behind. We found our father at the arena.
He threw five axes at a target that hung on the wall, grunting each time. He missed the target each time but was throwing so hard that the axes lodged into the stone wall.
A Terrible Terror sat on top of the target, giving Stoick amused chirps every time he missed.
The chief sighed, rubbing a hand over his face before he lifted another axe.
Hiccup cleared his throat to get his attention.
Our father turned around and lifted the axe to throw at Hiccup and I.
"Dad, please don't kill us! It's your kids." Hiccup raised his arms over his head.
"Oh, my Thor." I muttered after our father lowered his weapon.
"Hiccup! Talulahh!" He greeted, throwing the axe behind him and getting a yaks-eye.
Stoick picked the two of us up in a bone crushing hug. "Oh, good to see you too, dad." Hiccup said, sounding very strained.
"Hi, dad, hi." I said, sounding the same as my brother.
"Yeah, now-now if we could just, um, breathe?" With that, our dad gave us one final squeeze before setting us down.
"I'm sorry!" He said as he hit Hiccup on the back.
"Ah!"
I couldn't help but laugh at my brother. Stoick continued, "Just happy to see my kids!"
