hiraeth - part ninety-one

Y/n had never known an anger like this. Not when she died in her previous life, not when she died to Frieza, not even when Zamasu killed Goku. This was different. This was an anger so raw, she worried it would burn her away until she was nothing but a spark of fire in the wind. This was a rage so wild, she wondered if she would be able to hold herself back from murdering the first person in sight. There were no miracles here in the tournament. Goku was dead. And the Grand Priest had called it self elimination.
Flames whipped wildly in the wind, a raging flame in Y/n's eyes so bright she might burn whoever she looks at. She had tried to hold back, to keep herself from using this form. This was the same transformation that had taken everything from her, burnt away all of her memories. She didn't want to use it again. She didn't understand it, didn't understand its power. Didn't understand what it made her capable of. She had only ever used it once, to take the life of someone she holds dear to her heart. And now, here she stood, using its power to fight for the life of her beloved, using it for revenge. It was ironic, that she now used it in the name of Goku's life.
"You," Y/n's hands shook, clenching them into shaky fists. "You murderer,"
"It was his own attack," Jiren finally spoke, finally used his voice. Y/n's eyes snapped over to him. He was the first person she saw. The first to burn, the first to die. She didn't care about whether or not she was eliminated anymore. He killed Goku, whether he wanted to believe in technicalities or not.
"IT WAS YOU WHO KILLED HIM!" Y/n shouted, flying at him, her power overflowing, bursting from within her, splitting her at the seams.
Jiren's eyes widened as he immediately blocked her punch, his feet skidding against the ground ever so slightly. Y/n huffed, releasing her fist as she held her palm out. "Why don't you die!?"
A burst of flames and ki suddenly knocked Jiren backward, his boots digging into the ground, his arms straining against her energy. Jiren let out a yell, throwing his arms out, knocking Y/n back as the flames of her beam went out.
Skidding across the ground, Y/n huffed, fists clenched. He was strong, that much was obvious. Even without taking into consideration the state Goku had been in after his fight with Jiren, that blast Y/n had hit him with would kill anyone weaker. She would have to go all out for this, put her everything into this fight.
Charging forward toward Jiren, the man suddenly disappeared, Y/n flying past where he had been with wide eyes. Looking back, Y/n barely managed to block the fist that had been aimed for her face. Arms crossed over her face, Y/n shoved Jiren back, swinging her leg to knock him off balance midair. She had never moved this fast before, not even when fighting Goku in the future. And the fact that they were basically flying through the arena at the blink of an eye made it harder for her to focus, to keep an eye on Jiren.
It seemed he had no issues, however, as he grabbed her by the ankle, slamming her into a wall of debris. Choking on a gasp, the burning taste of iron filling Y/n's sense, she had to swallow down her own blood as she let out a yell, whipping around and slamming her knee into the side of Jiren's head, smashing him through the wall of debris.
Jumping back, ropes of ki poured from Y/n's hands as flames whips of ki formed. Snapping her whips, Y/n grabbed hold of Jiren before he could have a chance to recover, yanking him straight toward her.
