nelson had obviously felt pretty different the last few days. they both did.
he was sad.
it was all kinda hitting him that it was
really over.
but it was.
so he was at the park again, hooping alone.
he almost got deja vu when he heard the gate rattling.
the boy looked back, seeing that same blonde that stood there not that long ago.
this time he stopped to look at her.
"hey" she smiled.
"hey." he nodded, dribbling the ball by him.
"need a rebounder?" she asked.
nelson thought for a moment, before sighing. "sure."
the girl walked behind the net, leaning against the fence as he shot the ball,
it bouncing and her catching it before passing it back to him.
that went on for a couple minutes,
until the girl finally decided to speak.
"what made you change your answer?"
nelson stayed quiet, just looking at
her for a moment before going back. she caught the hint, nodding her head.
"yeah. what's your name?" he asked.
"sophia."
