nelson knew she was lying, so he took his sweatshirt off, only leaving him with a t-shirt before handing it to her.
instead of his fitting oversized, since she was a lot taller it fit her well.
dawsin always drowned in his clothes.
"nelson, do you like anybody?" sophia bravely asked.
"..kinda." nelson truthfully spoke, looking at her with a soft smile.
the girl smiled back, before it fading as she looked back at the sun.
"what about dawsin? do you still think about her?"
"i try not too."
sophia stayed silent as she thought about how to word this.
"do you wanna start talking?"
nelson thought for a moment.
it had been a good two weeks since they stopped dating, and a good four since they started being dry.
that's fair, right?
sophia was a pretty girl, but it's a good thing she said talking and not dating. since dawsin, he really considered the connection aspect of relationships.
he didn't know if they were there yet.
"yeah, that's cool with me."
although they were only talking, this was a dick move. and nelson wasn't a dick. not unless he could help it at least.
and he knew dawsin. she would want to know.
and he knew it wasn't going to go over easy. he knew how it looked. it's making that whole argument they had seem a lot worse.
