Firey's POV
I wake up on the floor, and look around. I can barely see anything else, apart from where the door is. Gelatin is still asleep in the corner of the room, but the couple is gone.
Tennis Ball and Golf Ball have already woken up, and are both looking at GB's phone. I'm not really sure what to do, but then I realize that there's an entire city out there to explore! I walk out the door, and I look up. It's overcast, almost as if it's about to rain, but there's little to no chance of rain in Yoyle City so I keep walking. I make my way into the city center, where the Yoyleneedle is. It's so tall, and I can barely see the top, but the needle isn't the only thing I can see.
Golf Ball's POV
Well, it's too late now. TB and I have been looking at the weather forecast, like we do every morning, and it looks like it's about to rain. Knowing Firey's crippling fear of water, I try to catch up to him after I notice he's gone out, but he's already gone.
"Fool," I mutter under my breath, as I turn back to TB.Firey's POV
I hate water. It's not surprising, but water includes everything water-based: rain, the sea, even Ice Cube. I try to remember the way back to the LIVE HERE Hotel, but my mind's gone completely blank. Rain continues to pour down on me, and eventually I find my way back. Golf Ball's been waiting for me to come home.
"And where have you been, Firey?"
"Uh...."
"You could've at least asked what the weather would be like."
"Well-"
"And now look at you, you're soaked. You need to get dry," she says, pointing to some towels she had brought.
"Yes, ma'am." Golf Ball may be bossy, but she has common sense. I dry myself and walk back into our room. I'm sick, too, because I can't smell Fries' fries and my nose is runny. Brilliant. I sit myself down in the corner of the room, and notice that Gelatin's still asleep. I try to do the same, but my eyes won't close, so I'm basically just staring into nothingness. Gelatin's eyes begin to open.
"Oh, hey Firey! What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"Are you sure? You'd usually be outside by now."
"Yes, I'm fine," I snap.
"Woah, I'm just asking," Gelatin replies, taking a seat next to me.
"Sorry..."
"No, it's fine." Gelatin smiles and takes my hand. I blush. I suddenly feel even warmer now.
"Uh, Firey... are you OK?"
"Mhm. Yep."
"Are you sick?" He's onto me.
"Fine... I'm sick."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I... don't actually know..."
"Well, I can help. If you want."
"Can we kiss?" I'm completely speechless. I can do nothing but nod. He leans in slowly, while I'm paralyzed, still as a statue. I haven't kissed anyone since Leafy, and everyone knows how that turned out. But it feels good. Like in being wrapped by a huge sweater on a cold day. It's perfect.
"Well, I'm gonna go now. If you need anything, anything at all, tell me. Got it?" Gelatin says, almost as if he's not asking me, but telling me.
"Yes."
And he leaves the room, leaving me all alone with my thoughts.
