23. Loki'd! What a Shock

"I don't know." Fishlegs answered. "It was hard to tell from underwater. Everything looked kinda fuzzy and misshapen."

Snotlout chuckled. "You sure you wereen't looking at Meatlug?"

"Ha, ha. Very funny." Fishlegs deadpanned.

"Well, whatever it is, we'll find it." Hiccup said.

I saw Dahlia staring at him with a dreamy look in her eyes. I directed Saph to fly upside down above her. "Staring is creepy." I said.

She yelped in surprise, her head snapping to look at me. "Don't scare me like that." She put her hand over her heart.

"I'm just saying." I shrugged.

"Well, it's not everyday you look to your left to see a blue person hanging upside down right next to you." Dahlia pointed out.

"Let's fan out and find the creature. Don't get to close to the water." Fishlegs warned.

"How do we even know it's real?" Snotlout questioned.

"Because it bit me!" Fishlegs showed us his leg.

I tilted my head. "That looks like more of a burn than a bite."

"Grab your buckets." Hiccup instructed. "We're gonna chum the water to see if it shows itself again."

"Not me. No way. Loki Day trick. I can smell it from a mile away." Snotlout declared. All of us, except for Snotlout, flew higher after we chummed the water. "I mean, how dense does he think we are?"

"Uh, Snotlout?" Hiccup looked at the bubbling water below the boy.

"What?" Just then, something leaped out of the water and electrocuted Snotlout and Hookfang.

"That's...that's not a creat7ure at all." Fishlegs muttered.

"It's a dragon."  Hiccup finished the boy's sentence.

"And not just any dragon." Fishlegs added. "It's a Seashocker!"

The landed on shore as Fishlegs marveled. "A Seashocker! Right in our cove. And I found him!"

"You mean you trapped him." Tuff corrected.

"I didn't tr-Agh!" Fishlegs cut himself off.

"I gotta tell you, Fishlegs, if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I'm not sure I'd believe it." Hiccup admitted.

"Right? Seashockers are extremely difficult to spot because they hardly even surface." The Ingerman boy geeked.

"Yes, because they're deep water dragons." Hiccup added.

"Exactly. Which explains why it didn't take my bait." Fishlegs ranted.

"It only eats deep-sea fish!" The two spoke in unison.

"Geek mode, fully engaged." Snotlout lightly elbowed my side. I looked over at Dahlia, who was grinning at Hiccup like a madwoman.

"Okay, can we step away from the onslaught of dragon knowledge?" Tuff questioned.

"With pleasure, brother." Ruff said. She took a few steps back before falling down a hole.

"Loki'd!" Tuffnut yelled down at her.

"What? I thought we were on the same team!" She shouted, her voice echoing.

"Sorry, sis. A team is only as strong as it's weakest player." Tuff cracked his knuckles.

"As soon as I get out of this hole, it is on!" Ruff yelled.

"Just wait till she sees the snake I put down there." Tuffnut whispered.
