31. Captured

"I'm fine...." I said as everything went dark.

Snotlout's POV:

"What, what? They're gone! They were right here, I swear!" I grabbed my head. How could I lose both the Haddocks. Oh, this is bad. Astrid's gonna kill me.

Tuff put his hand on my shoulder. "There, there, little Snotlout. I'm sure Stoick will forgive you for losing his kids."

"Not helping!" I shrugged him off.

"Hey! Focus! We have to find them." Astrid said sternly, though I could see the worry in her eyes. Sapphire roared, sniffing around the cage, Chip right next to her.

"Were could they be?" Dahlia mumbled, picking at her nails.

"Sea slugs." Fishlegs picked up the thing Saph was looking at.

"What does that mean?" I asked.

"Well, Snotlout, it means that those dragons were lured here with food and then gassed with Dragon Root. What do you think it means?" Fishlegs replied.

I was expecting a sassy comment from Tu, but it never came.

"But why bother knocking them out? The dragons were already captured." Astrid said, trying to keep her voice steady as she paced back and forth. Sapphire walked up to her, nuzzling the girl's arm.

"To keep the dragons pacified to make them easier to transport." Heather responded.

"So, Talulahh, Hiccup, and Toothless are now being taken to Thor knows where?" I asked, slightly panicking. "Great! And we have no way of finding them."

"Do not fret. We will find the missing Haddocks and one Toothless Night Fury." Tuff said.

"Yes, that's right, young Snotlout!" Ruff agreed. "My brother and I are experts in the delicate and fine arts of detection."

"Interrogation." Tuffnut added.

"And infiltration." Ruff said.

"We are...Thorston and Thorston, sleuths extraordinaire." They said in unison.

"The best detectives on Berk." Tuff confidently said.

"Well, really, the only detectives on Berk." Ruff shrugged.

Tuffnut shushed his sister. "They don't know that."

The twins started to look around. Tuff picked up Meatlug's foot, muttering, "Mm, nothing there."

"Uh, Tuff?" Heather tried to get his attention.

"It's all very suspicious." Ruffnut mumbled.

"If we-" The raven-haired girl started.

"Heather, I've got this." Tuff cut her off. "The Dragon Hunters have taken Hiccup, Talulahh, and Toothless somewhere nefarious."

"Guys-"

"Not now, Heather. I'm detecting." Tuffnut cut the girl off once more. "Now to find where Hiccup Haddock, Talulahh Haddock, and Toothless Night Fury have been taken, we need..."

This time, Heather covered the boy's mouth. "Someone with inside knowledge of the Dragon Hunter ports." She finished.

"Someone with inside knowledge of the Dragon Hunter ports." Tuff repeated, his mouth muffled by Heather's hand.

"Someone like Heather! Thank you, Thorston." Ruff snapped her fingers.

"Your welcome, Thorston." Tuff replied, Heather have finally moved her hand.
