Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick....

Wednesday slams her fingers on the keys of her typewriter. With each eery ding of the machine, Wednesday swiftly slides the paper back in place to begin a new line.

Christmas break is coming up which means only one thing; Family.

The holiday spirit, the insipid music, the gatherings of her hundreds, no, thousands of family members. It all feels like some cruel punishment to Wednesday- and not the good kind.

"Hey roomie...." A cautious voice calls out from across the dorm room where Wednesday resides.

Enid, Wednesday's roomate, is sitting on her bed on the opposite side of the room. She is trying  to text her friend Yoko, but can't possibly focus with all of Wednesday's... erratic clicking.

Enid watches as Wednesday's shoulders tense.

"What?" Wednesday seethes without turning around. She ceases her typing for a brief moment.

"Whatcha doing...?" Enid tests the waters.

Wednesday whips her head around, a braid flinging over her shoulder. Her expression is some how emotionless and full of rage at the same time.

"Typing." Wednesday replies through clenched teeth.

"ahh, I see." Enid replies slowly, her eyebrows raising.

An air of silence fills the room. One could hear a pin drop. Though Wednesday and Enid got much closer after defeating the Hyde, they seem to have gone back to their old habits of annoying or ignoring each other... Well mostly Enid does the annoying and Wednesday... Well.. it can be left at that.

Their room hasn't much changed either. Enid's side is still as colorful and bright as ever, covered in all things pink. Wednesday's side is much more gothic in inspiration. Enid swear's that Wednesday keeps the cobwebs there on purpose, though she would never build up the courage to ask.

Despite their differences, they have learned to live together peacefully... well mostly peacefully.

"Is that moronic question really the reason you interrupted my writing time?" Wednesday glares into Enid bright blue eyes.

"Well..." Enid trails off.

Wednesday gives the impression of rolling her eyes, somehow, without actually moving them. She turns back around and begins her rapid clicking.

Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick...

"You just seem like you are very... tense." Enid continues.

"When do I not seem tense?" Wednesday replies without turning around from her typewriter.

Fair...

"Wednesday, you know what I mean." Enid pries.

Once more Wednesday whips back around and the typing ceases.

"You're not going to give up are you?" Wednesday asks.

"Nope!" There is a big grin on Enids face. She swing her legs over the bed and crossing her hands together, facing her roomie.

Wednesday glares. She knows there is no use in delaying the inevitable. She normally likes to keep all her thought close to her chest; but what could Enid do? Even if she did share Wednesday's thoughts with others, at least Wednesday would enjoy filleting her like a fish.

"If you must know-"

"I must" Enid interrupts, causing Wednesday's eye to twitch. It takes everything in Enid's body to keep her from giggling at the sight.

Wednesday starts again, "If you must know, I am absolutely devastated at the thought of going back to my family for the holidays."

"What?!?" Enid caws, "But Christmas time is the  best time! You seriously want to stay in school?!?"

"If it means avoiding my family, then very much so yes." Wednesday answering swiftly.

Enid takes a moment to think to herself. She too isn't the most excited to see her family as she would like to be. She would love to see her father, but not so much her mother and brothers. Ever since she transformed, they have been treating her differently. They talk about how everything is all better now that she is a real werwolf. It hurts Enid to think they didn't consider her a real werewolf before.

"Yeah," Enid pauses, "I am not the most excited to be stuck with just my family for the break either. For the first two weeks we are going on a trip to a family cabin and its so secluded out there I never have anyone to talk to and-" Enid pauses. She perks up on her bed and slams her hands down at her side, clearly inspired with an idea.

Wednesday is just about to say she doesn't care anymore when Enid blurts out, "Wednesday!"

If Wednesday were to ever be startled, which she never is, that would be one of the moments.

"What would you do to not have to go home with your family?" Enid asks.

"Anything," Wednesday deadpans.

Enid's eyes light up even more than Wednesday thought was previously possible; Even for an insufferably bubbly creature like Enid.

"What if you came to spend the first two weeks of break with me?!?" Enid is practically jumping up and down at this point, "That way we could keep each other company instead of my annoying brothers and we could basically be like roomies for part of the break too and-"

"Ill pass." Wednesday turns back around to her desk.

"What? Why?!?" Enid furrows her brows and lets her mouth gape open.

"If you are as impossible to live with as you are, imagine a whole pack of you." Wednesday begins to examine her paper to see where to last left off typing.

"We wouldn't even have to hang out with my family." Enid states "It's a big cabin Wednesday, and I know you can't resist the thought of watching a whole pack hunt in the woods during the full moon. My brothers can really rip some things apart when they are hungry."

Wednesday glances over her shoulder, causing Enid to smirk at her intrigue.

"Plus~," Enid adds, "If you decide you don't like it then your uncle Lurch can always come pick you up."

"He's not my uncle he's the butler," Wednesday corrects sternly.

"Potato tomato," Enid states, (incorrectly).

Wednesday takes a moment to think. Two weeks away from her family to spend time with a pack of murderous beasts does sound enticing. There is just one problem with your plan.

"Enid, you live in San Francisco and my family lives in New Jersey, if I needed to be picked up it would take days for Lurch to come get me." Wednesday protests.

Enid smiles, making Wednesday grit her teeth. "That's where you're wrong, our cabin is in Maine, a much shorter drive from New Jersey. So if you needed you could be picked up much sooner!" Enid beams.

As much as Wednesday wants to use Enid as a target for a flying arrow for calling her 'wrong', she must admit that the wolf has a point.

"I will think about it." Wednesday once again, turns back to her desk from glaring over her shoulder.

Enid practically explodes with delight- squealing and jumping up and down.

"ENID?!?" Wednesday shouts.

"Sorry!" Enid giggles before sitting back down.

Wednesday begins typing again and Enid notices that the clicking is much less violent. Enid's grin gets even bigger.

Wednesday sighs, somehow knowing there is a stupid grin plastered on her roommates face behind her. How is she ever going to survive these two weeks?
