Marjorie's eyes widened as she stared between Autumn and Sara. "Girlfriend?" Sara said looking between both women curiously. "As in? You two are together?" Sara asked posing the question to Marjorie. Marjorie stared at the brunette server before looking to Autumn who looked confused as to why Marjorie was hesitating. "Excuse me." Marjorie said as she stood and quickly made her way out of the building. She should've been thrilled that Autumn called her, her girlfriend. But she was angry, upset, confused. She couldn't figure it out. She loved autumn, she lived and breathed solely for the brunette, but she hated the fact that autumn was a woman. Marjorie's mother and step father raised her with the understanding that loving the same gender was wrong. They imbedded it into her brain from a young age. Marjorie started walking down the street, she forgot Autumn had drove them there.
"Marjorie!" Autumn called out as she chased her down the street. The brunette could hear her but she kept walking, it was getting late and getting cold. "Marjorie! Where on earth do you think you're going?!" Autumn said worried and frustrated. Marjorie just huffed and continued to walk. "For fucks sake Marjorie stop!" Autumn yelled causing the brunette to freeze. Autumns voice never went above her normal whisper tone.
"What!" Marjorie said raising her hands and turning around walking towards Autumn. "What was that!" Autumn said angrily gesturing to the bar. "I could very well ask you the same thing!" Marjorie angrily spit out. "You have no right to tell people about us without talking to me first!" Marjorie said pointing her finger in autumns face. "Get your finger out of my face." Autumn said calmly but her face told another story. Her eyes narrowed at the brunette, she hated being mad at her.
"I'm going home. Don't follow me." Marjorie said turning and walking away. "Marjorie don't be ridiculous! It's cold and dark, get in the car and I'll drive you home!" Autumn yelled. Marjorie just raised her middle finger over her head and continued to walk down the street. The brunette rolled her eyes making her way to her car and following at a safe distance making sure Marjorie made it home safe.
Once the brunette was safely inside her apartment Autumn drove herself home. Upon entering a small black cat jumped down off the nearby table. He looked up at Autumn his bright yellow eyes staring lovingly at his owner. "Hi caddie" Autumn whispered as tears began to fall down her face.
The brunette woman made her way upstairs cleaning off her makeup and getting into her grey sweatpants and black jumper. She made her way down to the couch where she curled up under a blanket and turned on the tv to watch quite literally anything to calm her mind. She started to cry as caddie jumped up on the couch, he rubbed his face against autumns tear stained checks before curling up and cuddling in her arms.
She gently kissed his head as she stared off at the screen not really paying attention to the true crime documentary. The next day Autumn called in from work, she asked Agatha to tell Marjorie she had food poisoning.
Marjorie made her way into the building quickly, she had woke up the next morning in disbelief that she treated Autumn that way. She didn't care that Autumn was a woman, she would be willing to do anything to make things right. "Morning Agatha" Marjorie said as she started to walk past. "Oh! Marjorie, autumn is poorly she won't be in today. Food poisoning." She said shaking her head.
Marjorie frowned, she knew the food poisoning bit was a lie but she thought maybe the brunette needed a day. The day felt like it was dragging on, Autumn was the only person occupying her mind. Marjorie pulled out her phone and sent a text to the brunette she just wanted to know if she was ok.
Autumn hadn't moved, she couldn't eat, she couldn't sleep caddie had kept her company the whole time. She saw her phone light up on the table, she could faintly see Marjorie's name and rolled her eyes. She didn't have the energy to handle her yet. Truthfully she missed the brunette. She missed her laugh, her smile, and most importantly her touch, her embrace.
She cuddled caddie tighter doing her best to keep herself from crying again.
As Marjorie went home she paced back and forth, every few minutes she'd glance down at her phone to see if Autumn had responded. Her anxiety only got worse so she picked up her phone and called the one person that might be able to help. "Hey Marj, you alright?" Reece asked curiously. "Reece, I need your help." The brunette said anxiously. The blonde got nervous hearing Marjorie's tone. "Marj? What's going on? Are you ok? Are you safe?" He asked worriedly.
"I'm fine I'm fine it's just...... last night Autumn and I sort of got into it and today she called out of work claiming to be sick and you and I both know nothing takes that woman down. I don't know what to do!" Marjorie said with tears falling down her face. Reece sighed, he knew Autumn well but when she shut herself down like this it was hard to tell what exactly to do.
"What did you two fight about?" Reece asked calmly. "She called me her girlfriend at the bar and I got nervous and ran off then we yelled and both said things we shouldn't have. And I might've flipped her off as I walked away." Marjorie said shutting her eyes waiting for Reece's reaction. Reece rolled his eyes, he knew this could be solved if the two just spoke. "Marj, go talk to her. It'll be ok." Reece said gently.
Marjorie agreed to at least wait till tomorrow in case she came into work. As she came in again and was told once more that Autumn had called in Marjorie sighed. Once the end of the day hit Marjorie quickly made her way to autumns house and knocked on the door. When no one answered she tried again.
As Marjorie was about to give up and go home she heard the lock turn in the door. Marjorie looked up as her blue eyes met autumns green. "Autumn, can I please come in?" Marjorie said biting her lip. Autumn hesitated, she wasn't sure if she was ready to talk, but seeing Marjorie stood before her reminded her just how much she missed her. Autumn moved out of the way to let the brunette in out of the cold.
As the two women made it to the sofa and sat down caddie jumped back up into autumns lap, Marjorie smiled as the little pet curled into a ball purring.
"Marjorie, I-..." she was interrupted.
"No Autumn wait, please, let me go first...."
