(Time Skip: 4 months)As Marjorie and autumns wedding day was approaching the two women were in full preparation mode. They hadn't realized just how stressful wedding planning would be or how much strain it would put on their relationship. Between work, getting their outfits fitted, venue picking, and all the other activities that went into planning their perfect day the two women hardly had anytime for just them.
Both Marjoire and Autumn were desperate for just one day where they could be themselves again. Charlotte could tell that her two friends needed a break so she called winter and asked if he and Nick could help her take some of the load off of the couple. The two men happily agreed. Nick was hopeful that this might land him a few points with Autumn, all he wanted was for winters best friend to like him.
Nick had been desperately trying for months to win Autumn over, anytime there was a nursery function or she was out for drinks with winter nick would try everything but the brunette woman wasn't budging. It was hard to win over Autumn knight, even harder if you didn't exactly leave a great first impression.
Charlotte made her way down the corridor to Autumn and Marjorie's office when she entered she could cut the tension with a knife. "Woah is everything alright?" Charlotte asked as she stared at the two women who were both glaring at each other. They had gotten in a silly argument earlier that morning that neither woman even remembers why it started, and it turned into them saying things to one another that they would later regret.
Marjorie turned to Charlotte and put on a small fake smile, "everything's fine my love how can I help you?" Marjorie asked sweetly she could still feel autumns stare burning into the side of her head. "Well since it's the weekend tomorrow I wanted to let you know that the next two days of wedding planning will be dealt with by myself, winter, and Nick. You two need a couple days of peace." Charlotte said happily. Marjorie and Autumn exchanged nervous looks to one another. The gesture itself was sweet but both women were very picky with their wedding.
"Oh my love that's very nice and all but-.." before Marjorie could finish her sentence Charlotte raised her hand in the air telling her to stop. "It wasn't a question Marjorie. I know how picky you both are and I promise everything will go according to plan." Charlotte said grabbing the wedding binder off of Marjorie's desk and walking out before either woman had the chance to protest.
As the couple packed up to go home for the weekend the awkward tension still lingered in the room. Marjorie stared at Autumn feeling guilty for some of the things she said, but before she could speak Autumn walked out the door towards the car almost acting like she would just leave whether or not Marjoire followed her. But Autumn would never actually do that and Marjoire knew that, the brunette knew that both of them were tired from burning the candle at both ends.
The entire car ride was silent neither woman knowing what to say, Autumn reached her hand out and grabbed Marjorie's giving it a loving squeeze. Marjorie relaxed the rest of the ride knowing Autumn wasn't mad at her. Once they got home and made their way inside Marjorie sighed she missed autumns voice, "darling... I'm sorry... I'm just tired and I really want this wedding to be amazing, and this merger has me stressed out. I said some very hurtful things I'm so sorry." Marjorie said wrapping her arms around herself in order to self soothe.
Autumn noticed this movement and stepped up in front of Marjorie pulling her arms down and placing them around her waist before she wrapped Marjorie in a tight embrace. "My sweet, it's alright, I said some hurtful things as well. We're both just tired and need this weekend to rest, recharge, and focus on us." The brunette said as she stroked Marjorie's hair. Marjorie nodded pulling Autumn into a sweet loving kiss. They hadn't been this gentle and genuine in a few weeks it was so refreshing for both of them to be back in their own bubble again.
(Time skip: Monday Morning)
The weekend flew by for the couple but it was the best two days of their lives, they rekindled their love and just spent the time being Marjoire and Autumn again. As Marjorie made her way into the nursery her latte in her hand she turned seeing Autumn still sat in the car. The brunette approached the window, "darling aren't you coming?" Marjorie asked confusedly. "I'll be in shortly my love, just waiting for winter since we have his coffee." Autumn smiled pulling her fiancé in for a passionate kiss. The exchanged I love you's before Marjoire made her way inside quickly.
The brunette rolled her eyes when she saw a familiar cat roll up, winter and Nick stepped out getting ready to walk hand in hand into the nursery. Autumn watched as winter attempted to heave 3 boxes of donations all at once, she rolled her eyes at his inability to take more than one trip. He was always like this. Autumn watched winter trip over his shoelace and fall forward dropping the boxes. Before the brunette had time to jump out of the car and run to her best friend she watched Nick run to him. She watched the way he slowly picked winter up making sure he was ok.
The way winters eyes lit up when he looked at Nick made Autumn smile, she could tell Nick was a good man. Maybe she could give him a chance? She got out of her car and walked towards the couple. "Winter, Nick, thank you for helping us get a break this weekend. Also here's your coffee." Autumn said handing winter his latte before she started to walk away. "Autumn! Can we talk?" Nick asked making the brunette freeze.
Winter cleared his throat before leaving for the two of them to talk. "Nick." Autumn said not totally in the mood to chat. "Do you remember me? Because I Remember you." Nick asked curiously making Autumn looked at him confused. "Should I?" The brunette replied not entirely sure where this was going. "I was the surgeon in charge of Marjoire. I didn't realize it when I first met you both but overtime I realized exactly who you both were." Nick said nervously.
Autumn stared the man down. Memories flooding her brain at the countless conversations she had held with him. To her he was everything, he saved her soon to be wife and she was forever grateful.
"Oh my god... you saved Marjoire."
