Finding her

———the next morning———

Today is my birthday.

It's my first birthday since being kicked out, but I have a slight feeling this will be one of the most memorable ones yet.

Kate is actually on the way here right now, I just finished getting ready since it's also the first time I'm seeing Kate since I've been.. gone? Taken? I don't know.

I did my usual makeup and I'm wearing a cute maroon sundress that ends at the middle of my thigh. I also have a bow in my hair the same color as the dress which I think adds the perfect touch to every outfit.

I don't really feel like wearing shoes since I'm inside so I just stay in my white socks that have a little bit of lace at the top, I add some perfume and gold jewelry then check the time.

Kate should be here any minute!

I'm think that Yelena is still asleep, I'm pretty sure she would sleep all day if Natasha didn't force her to get up and train.

I woke up kinda early today, I couldn't sleep a lot last night, being alone and being nervous to see Kate don't mix well when I'm trying to go to bed.

I miss Wanda, it's not even been 24 hours but knowing she's probably far away makes it feel like so much longer, hopefully they are back soon.

Wanda told me if the mission goes well they might be back late tonight, hopefully everyone is safe and it all goes smoothly so they can get back as soon as possible.

I know Wanda might be upset about the fact that I didn't tell her about my birthday, but hopefully she understands I just didn't wanna distract her from the mission or anything important.

A small buzz from my phone grabs my attention, I look and see a text from Kate.

𝐤.𝐛: 𝐈𝐦 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫.. 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞?

Did I tell Kate that the people I live with are Avengers?... No. Did I totally forget that the place I live is literally the Avengers tower and every person in New York knows what it is?.. Yes!

I send Kate a quick text telling her I'll meet her at the entrance then make my way down there.

It's weird going to the front entrance, I don't think I've ever really gone that way. Every time I come or go, which isn't that often, it's through the garage exit usually accompanied by Wanda or Natasha.

I open the door and see Kate standing there in black pants with a dark grey sweater. In her hands are balloons, and a few bags. Her hands are so full I can't help but giggle about how silly she looks.

She drops the bags and immediately pulls me into an enormous hug, she wraps her arms around me then lightly lifts me up then spins us around a few times while we both laugh.

"Y/n, I missed you so much!" She says while setting me down "I've missed you too Kate, more than you know." I say softly while looking up at her, she smiles.

She hands me the balloons she brought "Happy birthday, lovely. I can't wait to celebrate my favorite person." She says then tucks a piece of hair behind my ear.

I start blushing profusely, I probably look like a tomato. Kate lets out a small giggle after I cover my face with one of my hands.

I pick up one of the bags "C'mon, let's go upstairs." I say then start heading towards the elevator "Yes, ma'am." Kate says with a little laugh and a solute motion with her hand, I just roll my eyes and keep walking.
