You don't remember how you got home, you were just thankful that you made it home at all.
You shut the door behind you and got ready for bed in a daze. You had almost died today. But you were saved, how and by whom, you could only wonder.
You threw yourself into your bed and let your mind wander off onto different planets until you slowly started to drift into dreamland.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
You jolted awake from the sound of your alarm. You cursed as you fumbled with it trying to turn it off.
Shit. Today was your first day of school.
Throwing the bedsheets off you started to get ready. You opened your closet and debated on what to wear. You decided on a plain black skirt, white t-shirt and a (f/c) cardigan that was just slightly too big. You brushed your teeth and hair before putting on your shoes. You checked the time as you grabbed your bag and headed out the door.
You're starting Kamii University today! Truth be told you couldn't wait to start, you were just nervous. You didn't know anyone at all, and you weren't sure if you would meet anyone who would be studying the same thing as you.
You circled around the block and took in a deep breath. Your school was now right in front of you. You walked through the gates and into the courtyard.
'Amazing..' You thought to yourself as you looked around. It was huge! Students walked around campus while others say and studied or chatted within their group. 'So many people.'
"(F/n)-chan!" You heard a familiar voice from behind. You turned around to see Kaneki walking up to you and a man with orange hair behind him.
"Dang Kaneki, why didn't you tell me you had a date!" The guy with orange hair laughed.
All you could do was blush 'date..?'
"I-it's not like that!" Kaneki stuttered and looked down. "She's a friend, I met her at Anteiku.." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"I'm (f/n) (l/n), nice to meet you," you greeted the stranger.
"Hideoshi Nagachika, but you can just call me Hide," the boy beamed. "Do you go here?"
"Yes, I start today," you laughed nervously.
"What are you studying?" Kaneki asked.
You blushed slightly. "Astronomy." Truth be told you were obsessed with stars and the study of the universe. It was fascinating to you, but you tend to annoy or embarrass yourself. Not every many people study the profession anymore, but you were determined to work in the field some day.
"That's actually really cool! I've never met anyone with such an interest. That's really cool." Kaneki grinned and your heart skipped a beat.
'This boy makes me feel funny, damn it!'
Meanwhile, Hide watched you and his best friend talk with a huge grin plastered on his face. It wasn't like Kaneki to talk to strangers, especially a girl like yourself.
"You really think so..?" You hid your face behind your phone to hide your face.
"Yes, it's much more interesting than Japanese Literature." Kaneki chucked to himself and scratched his cheek.
'This nerd I swear.' You felt your cheeks heat up and checked the time on your phone. 9:40. Well shit, you're about to miss your first class!
"I-I'm sorry my class starts in five minutes I have to go! Maybe we'll have a class or two later!"
"Y-yea, maybe," Kaneki looked down and smiled. "Bye (f/n)-chan."
You looked behind you and waved at the two boys. "Bye, and nice meeting you Hide-kun!"
Kaneki watched you walk off towards your class until he felt Hide jab him in the arm.
"Wha? What was that for.." He turned to the giggling male, Hides' grin grew wider and he walked off towards the nearest building.
"Nothing you just seem to be very interested in her."
"N-no! It's- hey come back!" Kaneki quickly followed Hide and bickered with each other the rest of the way to class.

Your classes were great! The professors were nice and you talked to a few classmates. You were finished with almost all of your classes by 1:30pm!
You were walking past a food cart when your stomached rumbled. You decided to grab a taiyaiki and headed towards the open courtyard.
You munched on your fish-shaped treat while searching for a place to sit. Most of the benches and tables were filled, and you didn't want to sit on the ground. You scanned the surrounding area when someone caught your eye.
You spotted Kaneki sitting at a table, his face focused down on his book. You didn't want to seem creepy or bug him, but at the same time you were drawn to him, so you decided to make your way to his table.
Kaneki looked up and saw you sit down in front of him. He adjusted his eyepatch and smiled. "Hi again."
"Hello, um, I'm sorry if I'm intruding. I just didn't see any place I could sit I hope you don't mind.." You looked down at your snack slightly embarassed. Maybe this was a bad idea.
"No it's fine! I don't mind at all.." You could tell he wanted to say something else, but he closed his mouth and looked at your snack. He glanced at you and smiled again before returning to his book.
You took stared at your taiyaiki and took another chunk out of it. The two of you say in silence, maybe it was awkward but you didn't know. You were back in deep thought.
'This crush is redicilous,' you thought to yourself. You were obviously attracted to this guy but you had no idea why you were so drawn to him. It feels different. 'He probably thinks I'm just some weirdo following him around. Maybe he was secretly annoyed but wants to be nice, that's why he stopped himself from saying whatever he was going to say.'
You finished your snack and crumbled your wrapper up into a ball. "Thank you for letting me sit here Kaneki-kun."
You stood up and started to walk off before you felt a hand on your wrist.
"Wait!" Kaneki let go of your arm, his checks dusted with a faint tint of pink. "I uh...c-can I ask you something?"
You stared at him a little surprised, but you nodded.
He fiddled with the sleeve of his jacket. "Would you like to come with m-me sometime to get a cup of coffee..?"
Your eyes widened slightly and you dropped the crinckled paper wad.
"Yes!" You blurted out a bit too fast. "Yes...I think that would sound lovely." You grinned.
You both exchanged numbers before you parted ways. You hummed to yourself on your way to your next class.
'The universe works in mysterious ways.'

WHATS UP IM BACK FROM VACATION!!! It was such a nice break but time to focus on preparing for university and writing stories ;w;
This story is finally starting to take off I'm so happy, it was such a pain writing this chapter but I did it!! Props to ya girl Gesu for finally finishing it.
